Hearne: Will SNL’s Jason Sudeikis Wed Olivia Wilde in Lawrence?

Think of it as the ultimate Jayhawk tribute…

It’s no secret Saturday Night Live funny guy Jason Sudeikis bleeds KU blue. Sudeikis even wrote an SNL sketch for Jack Black that was set in iconic Lawrence bar The Wheel and has been known to sport KU shorts on the show’s set.

Not to mention he’s been seen around Lawrence while here to attend basketball games with his fiance, actress Olivia Wilde.

Now sources say Sudeikis and wild are taking it to the limit and planning to marry here in Lawrence, possibly at the historic Eldridge Hotel downtown.

“The whole town is talking about the Jason Sudeikis-Olivia Wilde wedding,” says a source. “Because they’re (supposedly) going to have it at the Eldridge.

“One of Olivia Wilde’s associates was in town recently taking pictures for the wedding. Taking pictures of downtown. They come here all the time for KU basketball games.”

There’s more.

“The rumor is Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell will be coming to the wedding and they’ll all stay at the Eldridge. They want like a small time wedding.”

The date?

“We don’t know,” says the source. “That’s what we’re waiting to find out.”

Sudeikis has come a long way since graduating from Shawnee Mission West in KC in 1994 and snagging a basketball scholarship to Fort Scott Community College.

That lasted for two years until he was cut from the team for failing grades and moved on to doing comedy and dating celebrity hotties.like ex-wife, writer-producer Kay Cannon (30 Rock) and actress January Jones (Mad Men).

The $64 million question being, will Sudeikis and Wilde tie the knot here in LA?

“I don’t know, I’ve heard that same rumor,” says Lawrence entertainment writer and author Jon Niccum. “But it would not surprise me at all if they didn’t. I would find that incredibly odd. I mean, they could go anywhere in the world – they could go to the island of Ibiza.”

Following his divorce from Cannon in 2010, Sudeikis dated Jones until their breakup in January 2011, reportedly over long distance dating complications.

Eight months later Jones gave birth to a son but declined to name the father.

Then at the MTV Movie Awards Sudeikis told the crowd he may be fatherhood bound.

“I might be a dad soon,” Sudeikis said while presenting Emma Stone with the award for Best Comedic Performance.

Sudeikis’ rep later told an online site that the comic had just been joking.

Asked about it again at the White House Correspondents Dinner, Sudeikis became tongue-tied and evaded answering questions to the Washington Post. Eonline later referenced a source saying the father was not Sudeikis, although clearly the timeline is there for the possibility that it was him.

Whatever.

The latest: Sudeikis and Wilde have been boasting about their sex lives, with Jason amending a quote by Wilde that they have “sex like Kenyan marathon runners.”

“To be honest, she was misquoted,” Sudeikis told GQ. “If there’s any legitimacy in entertainment journalism, I’d be remiss if I didn’t correct it: The actual quote was, ‘We fuck like Kenyan marathon runners.’ ”
