In the beginning…
Mike Miller left the Pitch to start an independent art publication in 1997. He asked me to name it, make a cover, and produce a monthly image with text. I was hanging out in Cincinnati, Ohio with Corrie Van Ausdal and I drew her reading a magazine covered by an image of her reading a magazine. My pen bled so she became a brunette, but anyone who knows theater will recognize her good bone structure. The cover was christened with the title “Review” and I began a run of text driven illustrations called “Lisper“. Hearne asked me to help him with a new website and I am refreshing “Lisper” as an online blog spot. Enjoy.
