Media types have no qualms talking about firing managers or coaches on a regular basis, so when one of them gets canned, I don’t think it generates much sympathy with fans. What goes around…

It didn’t take long for Soren Petro to find the next butt at Arrowhead to firmly attach his lips to. The ‘new Bob Gretz’ is a survivor, a lesson Roger Twibel would do well to learn…

Is WHB having financial problems? That would explain a lot. A LOT of people in this town would love to see ‘the House that KK built’ fail. Who’s the next to go?…

Twibell getting a little ticked off at the Chiefs is a good thing. I can rarely detect emotion in his voice and I have heard it lately when he talks about the new regime.

Twibell normally puts me to sleep with his golf announcing voice and vanilla toast opinions. If this gets him fired up I might listen more.

Carl Peterson getting getting whacked was cause for celebration, just like when Augusto Pinochet got his due, or when Jeff Immelt at GE will eventually get the Joey Zazza treatment. People that are evil, arrogant, power hungry narcissists always have their demise celebrated. Liberation is cause for celebration.

Good story on bottomlinecom about Nick Wright. While Petro is sticking his head up his advertiser’s butts this kid is coming on.

I’ve certainly seen 810 taking longer to come back from breaks, then taking longer talking about what remote they’re at (which seems like something EVERY DAY) — at least over lunch when I listen. But I was especially pissed the other day when I tried to listen to sports talk and got a freakin’ infomercial for some eye doctor. I would switch back every few minutes and check, only to see that damn infomercial was still on. I’m not a huge fan of the 610 lineup, but I find myself listening to them more because at least they’re not always on commercial or pseudo-commercial.

That’s called having a successful radio station. People want to advertise. 610 could only dream to have people on location at places. The reason people tune to 610 for anything is beyond me still. Twibell=old and boring, Nick “here’s my take” Wright=college radio, C and C music factory=man that girl is hot, you are a douchebag, I drank last night..etc…etc…

    Dan,

It’s “successful” or “cheap rates”. I have no idea which. I just know it turns me off and I’ve spent less time listening to 810 as I find myself tuning in only to find an infomercial or a commercial disguised as “talk”, which makes me look for alternatives. If 610 has something worth listening to, I’ll listen. If 1320 comes in without static, I’ll listen. Granted, if 810 can pull it off and keep their ratings, it’s good business. I’m just guessing I’m not the only one that’s noticed the extra long breaks, remotes, and infomercials.

whb, like other stations has had to lower rates to get advertisers on. As the rates go down, they need more advertisers on the air to make the
    money.
