on. If dorsey can’t do it right here…move
him. the problem with the royals and the previous cheifs heads was they were too proud to
admit they made a mistake. They would hold onto to bad players for too long and dream that they
would come around.
Take that fat overweight worthless pos and
send him packing. Its obvious he needs to
be home close to his chitlings and his
momma. Cut him and trade him now so at least
you get something for him.
Pioli and haley didn’t draft this worthless
piece of crap. Trade him now and move on.
New England never kept players who didn’t want

This pig signed a contract. He will have lots of
money but it looks like he’s spending it faster
than he can keep makeing it after football.

Glenn Dorsey isn’t that different from a lot of pros. Once they get PAID there isn’t a lot of incentive to perform anymore. Sports is one of the few professions where coming into the league you get paid for your potential not your relative skill level to other players. The players union and the compensation committee will never get this straightened out and toads like Dorsey will always exploit the system. When you got cribs, sleds, ho’s and your posse set for life at 21 it ain’t game on it’s game over. Maybe Scott/Todd can get Denzel Washington to talk to Glenn.

The move to SI for JoPo might not be as good as it looks at first glance. While he was a decorated sportswriter in his role at The Star, I never thought much of him as a columnist. His opinion-based work never had any bite. He is an excellent storyteller and I believe that skill will play well at SI. But leaving The Star for SI is kind of like jumping from one sinking boat into the next. SI is no longer the Mecca of sports journalism that it was during my younger days. Magazine subscribers continue to melt away as quickly as daily newspaper subscribers.
The future (and present) for print media is the web and eventually Kindle-like devices that deliver updated news and stories. It will be interesting to watch JoPo over the next few years and see if he grows or slows. He doesn

Nick Wright needs to get out more. Glenn has a nice house but there are lots and lots and lots of houses that are much much nicer throughout the metro area.

Greg, I agree. I haven’t read a SI magazine in over three years. And that’s including the swimsuit issue. JoPo needs this to work. If it doesn’t it will be back to the Star, If they want him back or another paper in another city.
JoPo had his followers that thought because you could write well meant your a great columnist. JoPo wasen’t a great columnist. He always wrote fluff.
JoPo was the best example of telling the people what they want to hear and telling them what they need to know. He always told the public what they wanted to hear.
In JoPo’s world the local teams were always one player away or one break away from a title.
Goodbye JoPo, I won’t miss you.

Commendable of Nick Wright to do his job and report that Dorsey is a fat, out of shape, non-motivated loser? Sounds to me that Nick’s more of a jersey chaser than a true media member. I’M PRETTY SURE THE FIRST DAY OF JOURNALISM SCHOOL STATES “KEEP ALL RELATIONSHIPS AT A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL”.

JoPo is a great story-teller/feature writer. He really is not a columnist. I always felt that he always wanted to write more than the space provided in the paper. I think this will be better for his writing style and hopefully SI can morph into being an online publication for his sake.
I think JoPo saw the handwriting on the wall in regards to the Star and knew that he needed a change before the change was made for him. Good Luck JoPo. As someone said earlier, I wish it was Whitlock leaving for parts unknown.

When it comes to sports Greg Hall can and does write circles around JoPo. Joe is an excellent example of the Peter Principle at work. He’s better suited to writing Harlequin Romance Novels than covering sports with any sort of critical insight or opinion. His writing has a mamby-pamby Alan Alda feel to it. JoPo is a fine example of perseverance triumphing over mediocrity. So remember kids, in this crazy world we live in sometimes just showing up is enough.

critisiing other media people. I would hate
to see what others say about greg hall and his
posts on small unknown websites.

It’s typical of this town. When someone does
something good…when someone does something great in their profession…when someone steps
to the plate do be a good person or do something

JOJO. Boy brother you just bring out both sides. On one hand you have me laughing on the floor with the Nick Wrong found squashed by a 303.5 black man.
But on the other hand you get me fired up over your attack on Greg. You do understand that a critic or media watcher’s job is to criticize or report what they see (or in this case hear)from the media? Greg has never tried to portray himself as the next great American writer. That being said you don’t have to be a football player to comment on the game. Nor do you have to be a sportswriter to comment on Jason, Jopo, etc. Also everyone needs to remember…Greg LEFT the Star.

Anybody can write like Posnanski. Example:
Have you ever sat back in your seat at a ballgame, smelled the aroma of the hotdogs and heard the sound of the bat cracking against the ball, watched a player slide into second as the umpire throws his arms out and yells “Safe!” and just found yourself lost in the moment? Well that’s how I used to feel every time my Uncle Lou took me to see the Indians play at Cleveland Stadium. There was always this one vendor named Fred, and Fred was as fun as vendors at baseball games get. Here’s what made Fred so great: You could yell across three sections at Fred, he’d spot you, give you a thumbs up and say, “Hey ya Joey, on my way!” And that was it.
Fred got to know Uncle Lou and I so well over the years that he began calling us Louie and Joey. Every time he’d see us at a game he’d greet us with a “Whaddaya say Louie, hey ya Joey!” and it just made the whole ballgame experience great. Fred was Cleveland. Fred was baseball. Fred was as good as it gets. Somewhere along the way, Fred was no longer around. Uncle Lou and I would look for him, but there was no Fred to be found. We’d ask other vendors. We’d ask other fans. Nobody knew what had happened to Fred. And then one day at the supermarket, as I’m driving my mom crazy riding on the front of the grocery cart, we come around a corner and there’s Fred with his wife. Turns out Fred had retired. Back gave out. Couldn’t walk the steps of ol’ Cleveland Stadium anymore. I told him how much I missed seeing him out there and how Uncle Lou would be so happy to hear I ran into him. And you know what, out of our whole conversation standing there in the supermarket, you know what the best part of it was? As soon as Fred saw me, the first thing he said was “Hey ya Joey!” And I swear I thought I smelled ballpark hot dogs wafting through the air in that supermarket. Fred was baseball.

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! Then Whitlock writes a follow up complaining that a black man who was a street hot dog vendor should of gotten Fred’s job but management at the stadium want to just create a WHITE family atmosphere.
Then Hearne reveals that Craig Glazer use to hustle hot dogs from Fred and their will be an upcoming movie about it.
Finally channel five has two week’s of promos on confronting Fred about his claim that these were all beef hot dogs when in FACT they weren’t. Story at 10.

That Wright claims to have a closer-than-usual media-athlete than usual and isn’t an apologist for him says a lot for Wright. The question is whether Dorsey — a very young man, even by the standards of his profession — will be mature enough to respect Wright for his integrity, even if he doesn’t disagree with the critique? That will let us know something about Mr. Dorsey.
As a football player, of course, we know a lot more about Dorsey — and it hasn’t been encouraging.
