810 scoops 610 once again….

A positive 810 story! I guess this one story evens it out the last 20 positive stories for 610. Dwayne Bowe is being taken apart by Todd Haley and rebuilt just like basic training in the army. In fact I think the whole team is in that mode. If you don’t practice well you don’t get the rewards of being first team. It is not about potential or athleticism. It is about production.

Let’s be real here. D-Bowe will be running with the first team once the season starts regardless of where he is right now. Haley would be stupid not to put his best receiver on the field.
This is nothing more than a slap on the wrist. They can call it a demotion all they want, but D-Bowe isn’t fooled and neither was Hamblin.

Bowe needs to recognize how Haley made LarryFitz and Anquan Boldin into even BETTER receivers than they were. Fitz thanked Haley for pushing him and making him work hard to make him stronger. Bowe needs to step it up

Most people want to be led, including players. When there’s a strong leader in place who starts getting people to believe in him, people raise their game. It sounds like Haley is getting through to a lot of guys. How often in the past have we heard about that many players staying after practice to work on things voluntarily, other than Gonzalez?
With Herman Edwards, he was such a players coach that everyone’s level of effort fell down to the low level of his expectations. He was so lax and buddy buddy with the players that it created a bunch of lollygaggers, and look how that worked out.
I’ve been hesitant to buy into Haley until we start winning games, but I don’t see how anybody can be unhappy with his approach in training camp so far.

If Haley can handle his players like he
handled his wife at Brio 2 months ago
then the Chiefs are headed to the super bowl.
You can tell from all the reporters trying to
make some news in this training camp that they
are dying for something to say.
Fact is that these players want to win.
Haley can tell them that he took the Cards to
the next level but it was not without
problems and work.
I think that Haley believe he can take any
player in the nfl and with the right focus
and work he can make them a good player.
Remember…the talent level in the nfl is so
high that in reality the talent among all the
players in a position are pretty close.
Its the way that player handles himself…his
coaching…his coaches plan…the preparation..
that makes the differnce in the nfl.
Joe Montana says that Walsh made him better.
That had he gone to a different system…had
walsh not prepared him and his teamates as he
did…had he been with anothercoach and
offensive scheme that he probably would not
have been as succssful as he was.
Haley is doing a great job. We have reason to
believe.

JOJO, enough about Haley fondling his old lady….we get it already. Other than that I completely agree with the rest of your take. The “country club” atmosphere that Herm and Carl let happen to this team RUINED what Dick Vermeil built, and I for one am SO glad that Todd Haley is here now to bust these guys’ asses and make them understand that nothing is ever handed to them. That to get where they want to go they have to work hard to get there. The cream ALWAYS rises to the top in the NFL, so it’s refreshing to see that somebody is finally making these guys understand that. I haven’t been this excited for the start of a NFL season in years, and hopefully this Chiefs team will show vast improvement over that big stinking turd Herm rolled out there the last three years.

Right about basic training JS. Conditioning is the big difference maker in the NFL. Joe Paterno said it best. Winning is important, preparing to win is critical. Improved physical conditioning will lead to fewer mental breakdowns and stronger confidence. If the whole team buys what Coach Haley is selling it might be an ezciting season.

Hey jojo, name one coach who doesn’t think that he can make players better. All coaches think they know what they’re doing. Of course Haley thinks he can make players better, that’s the coach’s job.
I have to disagree with your belief that the level of talent in the NFL is “so high that in reality the talent among all the players in a position are pretty close” – that’s not true. The league is so watered down since expansion it has opened the door for guys that don’t belong in the league. College players leaving early before their game is fully developed also plays a role in guys getting on the field who lack polished playing skills. That’s why teams have such a huge drop-off in the quality of bench players who replace injured starters.

I agree, Dexter, EVERY coach thinks he can make his players better, yet it has become difficult with the sophs and juniors declaring for the NFL. The talent pool isn’t as deep as it once was.

The above being said. 810 DID do a better job at spring training then 610. Also I like Soren’s two minute drill. Hate 610’s 6 in 10 second deal along with trivia crap on Friday’s on 810. gee I guess on a Friday their is nothing better to report.
