According to sources, former Mix 93.3 FM superstar Kelly Urich was thisclose to signing a deal with the 95.7 The Vibe and taking over for the recently axed Shorty & the Boyz show.
In fact, there is a school of thought out there that Shorty et al were blown out with that very radio chess move in mind. Until, that is, Entercom’s moribund Kiss 99.7 FM got wind of things and waltzed in with a fatter check book. Now Urich will be leaving his basement broadcasting bastille on-or-around December 12th after his one year noncompete with MIx expires.
Urich did not return calls in time for this column but confirmed earlier in the week that he was in negotiations with the stations.
One wild card: Will The Vibe now rehire Mike and Shorty back to protect its ratings, reportedly No. 4 in the station’s target demo? The odds of that happening: slim

What happened to the satellite gig at Sirius orXM? What time slot is Kelly going to command?

K. Urich will take over afternoon drive on KKSN-FM. Syndicated Ryan Seacrest will move to middays.

I’m not sure who’s more annoying and intolerable – Shorty & the Boyz or Kelly Urich. I would rather listen to some read IRS documents in Russian than either of those on the radio.
95.7 needs a fresh start – carpe diem! And, 99.7 is a no start…maybe Kelly can at least help them in that regard, if not for further laser hair removal promotion. Gag!

Hey, I loved the post. I recently celebrated my 8 year anniversary of my first Botox injection date and I am still incredibly pleased with my skin. I’m sure the materials are improving by the day, too. Anyway, keep up the great work!
I had a good time here but will return to google now.
