    OH STOP!!!
THERE IS ONE SWITCH, it is a switch which turns on the magical season, AND IT IS A REAL SWITCH.

    What will you say next??
That there is no Santa Claus? that there is no Easter Bunny?, that there is no horny 21-22 year old hotty waiting for me in bed?

    What a non-story
I don’t think he came all the way here to flip the switch so much as to see his family. What a non-story.

If it’s a fake switch, who cares if he has his hand on it or not? It’s a ceremonial gesture – and he let the child flip the actual switch, which is the way it should be.

On the bright side, at least Hearne managed to post a lighting ceremony story that DIDN’T mention crowd numbers

    Big crowd
I was down there, and there were hundreds of thjpusand of joyous holiday celebrtaors. We estimate that there were 400,000-500,000 people, not counting the people in cars in traffic surrounding the plaza for a 5-10 mile radius. These numbers are estimated using many different methods, so you can rest assured.
