The awful truth about Tiger Woods regrets routine Friday…
“We all know what it was,” says Rock 98.9 heavy hitter Johnny Dare. “It was a PR move – nothing more, nothing less. It was a press conference for the press and the only people he owes an apology to is his family. You know, he went out to apologize to people he didn’t need to apologize to. I don’t think the public wanted it anyway – I think that was strictly for the sponsors.”
As for whether the general public will buy in, “I think they’ll forget about it as soon as he gets back out and starts beating people’s asses on the golf course,” Dare says.
Which brings us to the subject of role models…
“Since when did a fucking golfer become a moral barometer?” Dare asks. “He’s a great golfer nothing more, nothing less.”
Dare’s take on Tiger’s sins:
“He did what all of us want to do. Did he do it stupidly? Of course. Did he do something that was wrong for his family – not wrong for me? Yes.”

“The only thing that tears me up about Tiger is him saying he’s a sex addict. C’mon! You’re addicted to alcohol; you’re addicted to heroin. It’s not an addiction, it’s an urge. I mean, I like girls as much as the next guy but I don’t know anyone who stole a welfare check to buy pussy.
“I don’t know one guy that has said, I’m really tore up about Tiger cheating on his wife. And if he was, he’s a fucking twat. If you’re sitting at home worrying about Tiger Woods having sex with other women, you’re a fucking twat. And I hope your friend punches you off your barstool.”

“he did what we all want to do” Not sure if that is true. Would I want to hook up with fat blond porn stars? Ahhh…no. Only a few of his gals were attractive and none compared to his wife. I think most men have the fantasy of unlimited sex with beautiful women. But most of Tiger’s women were skanks. All that money and that was the best he could do?

What really cracks me up is people like Kevin Kietzman, Danny Clinkscale, and Tom Watson going “morality police” on us. My understanding is that all three of them are divorced. We all screw up and sometimes we all screw up BIG. Thats why you should keep your pie hole shut when others fall down. Watson really ticked me off when he went after Tiger. Nobody was all over Watson when he had his troubles. I have not been a big Tiger fan because I do not like anyone being overly dominant in any sport… but the dude is the best that ever played.
Obviously, Tiger is a very unhappy man. He has some problems. Hopefully, he will become happier, and straighten some of the selfish crap out.
He will be back, and he will get his 18 majors.

Dare is right on the money…he and I don’t always agree, but on this one HELL YES…sex addiction, com’on man…I got it…likely so does Johnny…and thank God….As far as being unhappy, regarding Woods, most people on top are, cause they have nowhere to go, no wiggle room…

I think people are missing something when they consider Tigers apology. For starters the guy is worth close to a billion if not more. He doesn’t need endorsements or sponsors at this point. My hunch is he was doing penance to his wife. A divorce would hit him harder in the bank than losing sponsors, especially given all the press. As for all the pro golfers who are piling up on him, they earn as much as they do, because of what Tiger has done for an otherwise unwatchable game. Ratings double when Tiger plays, admission fees to tournaments increase by 15 to 25 pct when Tiger plays. Keep in mind that Tiger wouldn’t have been allowed to join the country clubs or play the courses not long ago. He is hated among many of his fellow players for fucking up their good ol boy monopoly. So of course a cake eating douche bag like Watson is going to bad mouth the guy when he screws up. It’s jealousy,pure and simple.

Watson got on Tiger for his behavior on the course – club tossing, f-bombs, etc. not for his personal life. He specifically mentioned that his personal life was just that – personal.
And I don’t buy the arguement that the other players on tour think he is “fucking up their monopoly” – purses have doubled since Tiger’s arrival on tour, and that’s what the players care about – money.

Compliments to Johnny Dare and Hearne for this spot on perspective. Yeah, it was a PR move and let’s hope it also signals closure on this whole torrid affair(s). The best thing Tiger could do is get out there and whomp everyone’s ass in the Masters. That would deliver the true closure.
I also want to second Ray’s contention. You guys are too tough on Tom Watson. Tiger’s young, egotistical and hubristic (or was). He needed to be knocked down a few notches. I like what Watson said. He’s challenging Tiger. Rise above it. Don’t succumb to the ego and petty emotions like lust & anger. If you don’t you’d end up like most of the posters here. smirk.
