Jack Goes Confidential: Franchise Fatigue? Not With ‘Mission: Impossible – FALLOUT’

Give credit to Tom Cruise for keeping this franchise strong and fresh…

Not necessarily from a standpoint of story line, mind you, but by creating ever more exciting action stunts to amaze us.

Could he top his impressive ROGUE NATION stunts of 2015 which found him hanging onto an aircraft at takeoff?

Or how about 2011’s GHOST PROTOCOL which saw Cruise scale that glass skyscraper?

Certainly tough acts to follow.

But take it from me, for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-  FALLOUT Cruise goes out of his way to give us his physical best while dissing James Bond (something to chew on).

Ethan Hunt has never really been encountered an impossible mission—so why would he now?

Never mind that MI6’s Solomon Lane flipped to the dark side and a terrorist cell known as The Apostles.

Their mission: to acquire dangerous amounts of plutonium to produce the world’s most powerful nuclear weapon.

In play are three plutonium cores targeted by the syndicate for the likes of the Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca.

Question is, can Hunt stop the mass murder mission before all hell breaks loose?

Of course there’s more to the story. But be honest, do we really care?

We want to see the IMPOSSIBLE!

And on THAT level the movie delivers—and how!

Let’s not leave out the cringe-factor!

That’s when Cruise makes that now infamous jump from one London building to another. A stunt in which he suffered a serious injury but kept right on sprinting past the camera.

What a guy!

All that plus an impressive cast of supporters including Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin as Hunt’s I.M.F. boss.

Check your believability at the concession stand.

You’re in for non-stop stunts on land and in the air, wild chases—and bad guys who can’t shoot straight.

Even Wolf Blitzer puts on his best face in this movie—or does he?

From producers J.J. Abrams and Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-FALLOUT grading an all-action: A-

Saw it opening night at the Alamo…

Great effects, etc but the plot line left me kinda cold.

Like I said in the review: “Check your believability at the concession stand.”
And: “We want to see the IMPOSSIBLE…And on THAT level the movie delivers–and how!”

    ‘Nuff said 🙂
