Hammy
Greg, that scale isn’t to 10. Its 1-6. There are 6 teams in the North. The team that is the best at that position gets a 6. Thus Gabbert gets a 6.
____
GH: Hammy, thanks for the clarification. That sure makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking. I’ll fix my copy so I don’t look quite so numerically challenged.
610 sucks
I’m not a KSU fan, but they will win a conference game. Another reason why Fescoe is terrible.
dp
I would be Fescoe anything K-State wins more conference games than his Jayhawks do….
Nebraska will be decent, but they are not a Top-10 team with Lee at QB. They lost their best player too. I’m saying 8-4, 9-3 best case. Pains me to say it, but K-State is not beating them this year.
Somebody text the DeArmonds and remind them the last time MU took the field they were dominated in every phase of the game in a three-TD blow out loss to a service academy that doesn’t know how to throw a forward pass. Like I’ve said before, I’m tired of the ‘this is MU’s year’ talk. It’s turning in JoPo’s ‘this is the Royals’ year’ article. Seriously, ever since I was in college and Corby Jones was the QB, NEXT year was going to be the year they win the Big XII. They had their window and OU humiliated them…twice.
They lost their best defensive player and their best offensive player. Love how losing Denario Alexander is somehow good for them. He beat K-State on his own last year. MU has a brutal 4 game stretch at A&M, home to OU, at NU and at Tech. They could lose all 4 very easily. So, yawn, wake me up when MU plays a competitive game against one of the big boys from the South. 7-8 wins max.
Stevo
I’ve been wondering why the hell the Chiefs haven’t signed D. Alexander for months. There is no risk! We’re gonna roll with Urban when we could use his roster spot on Danario? I think this could be the one thing that MU and KU’ers agree on…sign this dude NOW! If he’s running 4.4 then he’s probably not that injured. And even if he is, cut him after that. Gaaawwdd!!!!!
Justafan
how is Nebraska ahead of KSU in the running back category, and are they not considering Chris Harper or Broderick Smith in the WR category??
JustAfan
tried to post a comment but it isnt showing up, here goes another try:
how is KSU not #1 for RB and does this not factor in our 2 transfer WRs Broderick Smith and Chris harper??

Shatel doesn’t need to say he’s not a lawyer. That’s pretty damn obvious. He may end up being correct about Nebraska and Colorado having to pay nothing to get out of their contract, but I doubt it. Unless the league was remarkably stupid, there is no way they worded the buyout agreement in such a way that there is any kind of calculation of “damages.” The rest of the league shouldn’t have to prove it was damaged. The fine/fee/whatever that is supposed to be paid is just that: A fine or a fee or a penalty. You don’t get to go to a theatre and argue “Inception isn’t a very good movie, so I shouldn’t have to pay for a ticket or I shouldn’t have to pay full price.” You don’t want to pay for a ticket, you don’t go to see the damn movie. If Nebraska doesn’t want to remain in the Big XII, they have to pay to get out. It’s that simple. If they’re arguing that the rest of the league has to prove up damages, that puts Nebraska in the weird position of saying “we don’t bring anything of value to the league,” which would make it weird when they expected to get paid for ticket sales and TV revenue, wouldn’t it?
The Independent Rage
Hall with the SLAM on the Kansas City Star’s editorial board! That sounds about right to me. And thanks for the heads up on the Paydirt show. I’m going to try to check that out today.
Cliffy
I’d call Shatel a dimwit, but he’s a Mizzou grad.
OK, he’s still a dimwit.
jojo
Missouri is moving to the big 10!
Nebraska plays for national title!
Texas loses 3 games this year!
The earth is melting from global warming.
3 out of 4 ain’t bad…ha ha ha ha ha

I always thought Mike DeArmond was the biggest MU whore and KU hater…until I started hearing his son on St. John’s show.
I get the concern for KU….to a point. Based on last year’s players and performance, last place might be a fair assumption. But Kerkhoff and others mention the coaching turnover as a bad thing. I’m not so sure.
By all accounts the new D-coach is solid, and surely will be a big improvement over young Bowen. Last year’s offense was shockingly sloppy and lacked attention to detail. Chuck Long SURELY will improve that. And Mangino’s off-field tactics and headlines clearly hurt the team. Gill’s positive brand of coaching and leadership, in my opinion, is gonna do the team a lot of good.
Not sure how many wins that equates to, but gonna be more than last year’s team. I’m not ruling out 3rd in the North.
dlj
A couple of shockers in this bunch (sarcasm noted). First, Curtis Kitchen (aka K-State’s Bob Gretz) is praising the O-line and how big it is. Won’t matter, K-State will be mediocre and once you stop Thomas, they really have nothing that scares any defense.
The DeArmonds are partisan MU backers to the end. Bashing KU in the process. Ask yourselves this one question, Where is anyone in the media hyping KU football this season or in previous seasons? I hear Gretz Jr. and KK pimping K-State and the DeArmond’s pimping MU. St. John treats MU like the local teams, so he will get a pass from me. He does try to be rational.
Finally, KK bashing Nebraska again. This is the #1 sports show in Kansas City. His monologue was about how ignorant he is on the sport of soccer. He then believes the Big XII North will be a race. Every publication says it’s Nebraska’s to lose, and I believe them. Their domination of Arizona in the Holiday Bowl was freakish in nature. If they have any type of offense, they will be playing again for the Big XII championship.
As for KU, the Georgia Tech game will be the litmus test for me. If they play competitively they have a chance at -7 wins and a bowl game.
Chuck D
that Power Mizzou series took into account the entire depth chart at each position. That’s why the Nubs were ranked ahead of Daniel Thomas and KSU.
Kia Zi
This is Kansas City, Missouri. We are suppose to love the Mizzou Tigers. I hope they win most of their games. KU is “ok” but Mizzou is better cause this is Missouri not Kansas.
Kia Zi
Oh yea, Joe Namath had bad knees.

Two thing if you live in MO you should root for the tigers not be a fence hopper and root for the out of state team. Second is this show 3 men in a garage for real? Anyone know if the guest list is correct? Seriously how are they getting these guest and nobody is hearing about it. Is there any way I can get the Bowden interview replayed?
Is this guest list right?
