Hearne: Will Plaza Art Fair Live to Tell the Story?

The $64 million question after the past weekend’s blown-to-bits WaterFire extravaganza on the Plaza:

Will this weekend’s Plaza Art Fair – one of KC’s lowest common denominator “art” happenings but premiermeet and greets – suffer a weather hit?

“I’m going to give you my instant analysis,” says Channel 41 weather wonk Gary Lezak. “My prediction is for a dry and gorgeous weekend for the Plaza Art Fair Saturday and Sunday.”

How about opening night, this Friday?

“Thursday there’s a chance of thunderstorms and on Friday it should all blow out,” Lezak says. “So the least likely day for it to be nice is Friday but it looks good. And for Saturday and Sunday it looks great.”

Hopefully a freak front line wind storm like the one that hit New York won’t enter the equation snd swoop down on “The Plaz”.

I predict a torrent of Boulevard Beer products followed by a nasty cold front of sneering and clucking from “artists” not exhibiting at the fair.

That forecasted 30% chance of storms this past weekend, sure turned out to be 100%.

    Thanks.

Didn’t Gary “guarantee” no rain during the Chiefs home opener?
