Once again Nick “the Shituation” Wright is putting his Chuck’s in his piehole. Is this really any different from KK’s MU heading to the Big 10 “story”?

Smartman, good point. Ice Shady just made up a story in hopes to get ratings. And to make matters worst, Ice also used the death of a NFL player to make a point about his made up story.

I wonder if all the KK haters will also post when this is proven to be false?

Jamaal Charles has 269 carries in his career, 69 pass receptions, and 51 kick returns. He has fumbled a total of 4 times, and has lost all 4. I would not consider that fumble prone at all. I have no idea how Charles has been labeled a fumbler, but it is 100% wrong.

Has Nick Wright ever been right about anything? I can’t stand Keitzman, but I’d listen to him over Wright at any turn.

hes lost two balls last year, fumbled once in the preseason , same as thomas jones

    not a fumbler

GH, thanks for listening to Nick Wright so we don’t have to.

Charles ‘is’ a fumbler compared to Jones, & he’s an injury waiting to happen with (over)use – the former seemingly got hurt about once a game 2009 despite his limited time/carries – increase said and… his ‘trick shoulder’ becomes an one-trick pony career: 3rd down back, Todd McNair deluxe.

Charles fumbled 4 times in 2009 – not twice as some state and in far fewer carries than Jones (Jones fumbled twice in 331 carries, Charles 4 times in only 190 carries; he also fumbled the ball twice in just 67 carries in 2008.)

So, once every 47 carries Charles fumbles, once every 96 carries Jones fumbles – TJ ratio twice as good for JC. Jones has also been ‘available’ and healthy and sturdy enough to carry ball 235 per season on average the last 6 seasons coming into 2010.

Apparently, the kc coach couldn’t care less who starts or gets the most carries (right now it’s about 60% for Jones and 40% for Charles.)

2-0 (as meaningless as it is for the Chiefs will finish in 4th place 2010 anyway) suggests that a rotation will continue until an reason to change it presents itself. Too, as has been reported KC is a “game-plan” (the reportage words) team, and each game will be a separate entity, at least in principle.

Bottom line- Charles is far better than Jones, Haley and crew are creating dumb drama, and of what use to the team is Carthon?
Nick Wright loves the Chiefs, I do too, and I do not buy into T Jones or Matt Cassel

PPM is right. I love not listening to wright. he’s soon-to-be unemployed. his schtick has run its course.

    610 needs someone credible.

Last I heard the season is 16 games and the last I heard we are 2-0 I think some people in this town wiould be happier if we were 0-2 with two close losses than where we are. It is a long season and in the end we will see who has the numbers and where are record is i.e. enjoy the ride.

Here is how this is going to play out:
Get as much use out of TJ while you can…heavily in the first 3 games because they’re winning. Gradually (and certainly beginning in the Indy game after the bye week) they’ll up his carries into a featured role for the second half of the season.
I got to tell you…while i agree with everyone that Charles is the obvious better back, I feel like the Chiefs think they can win the division and that they know they can’t do it without JC. TJ is dependable and safe…like their offense right now. Is it really that bad to preserve Charles for later in the season when everyone’s legs are tired except for his? Bigger picture people.

Gotta go with Stevo here. I think Charles will get his carries, and he’s a smaller back, so I’m ok with him having a few less carries.

Wright has apparently spend no time on the sideline of a football game. If Charles was sending signals that were disrespectful of coaching decisions — and we don’t know whether he actually said something, too — then it wouldn’t be the least bit unusual for his position or unit coach to get in his face. Football, especially in the NFL, is not a democracy and coaches tend not to be too concerned about a player’s feelings during the heat of battle. If they see attitude, they’re likely to deal with it right then and there.

Further, I doubt Charles is what Wright descibes as a “team leader.” He may be well-regarded by teammates, but I doubt he is the most influential player in the Chiefs’ locker room. Wright may think he has more knowledge more about inner dynamics of the team than he actually possesses.

As I’ve said before, Wright going solo is a mistake. He sorely needs counterweight to challenge his ridiculous premises, especially someone who has experience as a working reporter. His days are numbered if allowed to spew on his own; Jim Rome he ain’t.

It’s interesting that while the veteran hosts at 810 all work with show teams, the young 610ers are stand-alone hosts. It damages the quality of their programs since 1.) it gets tiresome listening to one voice and 2.) there’s no clash of ideas. While Kietzman and Petro don’t get seriously challenged by their posses, at least there are a variety of takes.

I texed Nick Whitlock and said his story was very ‘Keitzman-esque’. His response, “my stories are fact and not made up.” I couldn’t help but laugh at this tool.

Speaking of 810, am I the only one that read the story where they are having money issues right now? Apparently have laid off a few people. Wonder how long the 810 Zone will last.

MoCrash is right about Nick needing a co-host. Clearly 610 isn’t willing to spend that kind of money, however, or else they wouldn’t have given the drive time slot to someone so undeserving as Wright. Additionally, Nick wouldn’t survive for long with a partner since he is incapable of stating an opinion and then supporting it when challenged. When challenged, he reverts to something like the response noted by DonkeyPunch above. He’s either intellectually lazy, or just not smart enough to debate an issue when challenged. Or, most likely, both.

    Some co-hosts work:

    – Danny Clinkscale comes off a bit too elitist many times, but I think KK’s show is it’s best when Clinkscale and his well-thought takes are in studio with the usually fire-starting KK.

    – St. John benefits greatly from Bukaty and the 2 other guys who provide pop culture sound bits and juvenile wisecracks. I think his sports show is the best and most entertaining in the city, and I don’t think it’s close.

    – Klingler’s voice of reason is a good balance to Fescoe.

    Some maybe don’t:

    – Chris & Cowboy I actually found entertaining, but they were both too similar. Either could be a good partner to Nick Wright.

    – Marty and Neil Jones. Marty didn’t bother me much. Jones was the problem with that duo, I think.

    – Soren’s sidekicks don’t offer anything. They rarely entertain, and never disagree or challenge Soren. It’s all Soren and his non-entertaining rants, all the time, and it gets very old very fast. If Soren and Doug Gottlieb could pair up permanently, THAT would be a killer show.

Greg, can you give us any update on the rumor that Entercom is considering a format change, or sale, for 610am?

Even if they hang onto 610, I doubt Nick will be around much longer.

Since 810 is becoming financially unstable, according to Bottom Line, it would be ludicrous for 610 to fold up shop now.

There have been rumors about 810 being finacially unstable for a while. Most are false. It’s the economy, everything is effected. If the economy was good, 610 would try to steal some of 810 talents like Pertro or SSJ. Instead they just premote Nick Wright to the 2PM spot and bring in a D level host like Sherrif for a small price.

Whitlock has stated privately that he wants to get back into radio. But, 610 couldn’t afford his huge price tag and his demands. 810 was interested in having him rejoin SSJ and leaving Nate in the dust.

    But 810 changed their minds.

    810 scoops 610 once again!

810 let go of a few people just recently though. Oh how nice if they would let Nate go, that show would be so much easier listening to.

    Old Man Kissel,

I’m glad Nick got “premoted” to the 2PM slot because he beats the hell out of KK. “Premotions” are obviously something you’re not familiar with in your career. Hope you’re not too “effected” by these comments bud. Maybe 610 will land “Pertro” some day.

Old Man Kissel’s grammar gets scooped once again!
