We got a black dude in the White House ruining the country and a black dude in Lawrence ruining KU football. Both suffer from a lack of REAL leadership experience and both are gonna have a hard time keeping the true believers on the bandwagon past November 2.

Nothing racist about that, “smartman.”

The key to KU football is Gill’s recruits.

Smartman’s corollary refers to a ‘leadership’ premise, as evidenced by his second sentence.
The literary device takes advantage of what is self evident, in order to reinforce the point.
Whew!! Everyone breathe out now, smartman escaped the dreaded ‘racism’ accusations and can return to his life sans the scarlet “R” letter branded into his forehead.
Jeeze, unbelievable…
Steve
I thought in order to have a wining team you needed a Svengali at the helm.

Chuck is correct on smartman’s actual premise. He doesn’t explain why “smartman” felt it necessary to describe them as “black dudes”. Maybe for those who didn’t look at the picture or don’t know the POTUS. Just glad white dude Mangino is gone. and the last white dude that was POTUS.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I guess I could have substituted “unqualified” for black but I’d still be accused of being a racist.
Skin color means nothing to me, neither does sex, sexual orientation or religious preference.
I’d vote for a lesbian, latina, Scientologist if she had sound social and economic policies.

KU has one more game before it loses its fans. it’s not a must-win next Thursday, but if the team is unprepared like Baylor, we’ll all give up on this season and maybe on Prince Gill.
Now, we felt pretty bad going into the Ga Tech game, and KU’s coaching staff answered bigtime.

The good guy factor doesn’t mean squat if you can’t win. If Gill doesn’t have a winning record or show team improvement by 2012, he’ll be another “good guy” that was shown the door.

I think Amy and Seth would say, “Really, Hearne?”
Your evidence that the coach “is more popular than you might expect” is ONE guy. Even in the phony trend stories you see in the Star or the NY Times, the reporters find at least three random people agreeing on something to prop up an unproven premise. Plus the one source is someone whose livelihood depends on not alienating the Jayhawk faithful, so you know his word is as good as gold.

He’s a very passionate gentleman who thinks I’m out to burn KU. Imagine that. Trust me, he wasn’t worried about kissing up to anybody, he was arguing a point.
