Hearne: Whatever Happened to Jackson Mahomes?

Talk about where’s Waldo…

As popular as Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes is – the loss to Indy aside – his insanely tall and clearly insane – little brother Jackson Mahomes is the opposite, as in unpopular.

For the past two years locals have groaned and endured the goofy-beyond-belief Jackson’s over-the-top antics, as he romped around KC, shadowing the Chiefs and leading Patrick’s wife Brittany astray in embarrassing ways.

Given how conservative Patrick and National Football League are – Hunter Biden aside – it never really quite made sense.  I mean, it’s a “free country” and anybody can dance embarrassingly on TikTok and swear up and down they’re not gay – but who needs that kind of action?

Likely not the Chiefs.

And yet, three weeks into this season Jackson has been totally missing in action.

Sop what gives?

Well, for starters he quietly announced he was leaving KC earlier this year.

“I’m moving to LA,” Jackson wrote March 1st.

That after stating publicly that the media was “destroying” his life.

“However, some Twitter users said they believed Mahomes’ post referred to his not being invited to his brother’s bachelor party, which took place during the last weekend in February,” writes the Heavy. “In pictures of Patrick’s bachelor weekend in Las Vegas — published by the New York Post – Jackson was not in any of them.”

“My best advice for Jackson Mahomes is something all our parents said to us,” one observer Tweeted. “Get a job and don’t do stupid shit unless you are willing to pay the consequences!”

What’s more, Jackson’s departure seems to have rubbed off positively on Patrick’s wife.

To date Brittany’s only minor controversy was tweeting, “Guess we can hit QBs like that now,” after a Chargers player appeared to bump into Patrick below the knees.

Even newly departed Chiefs superstar Tyreek Hill took a parting shot from Miami.

“In a recent interview with internet personality Jake Paul, Tyreek Hill was asked about Patrick’s brother and social media influencer, Jackson Mahomes,” sportsskeeda.com writes “He has become a controversial figure among the league’s fans due to several incidents showcasing his lack of self-awareness and general disrespect. Hill was asked if he would be willing to be handcuffed to Jackson for 24 hours for another Super Bowl ring.”

“Oh no, no, no, no, no way – no way,” Hill shot back. “You said, handcuffed to Jackson Mahomes? I ain’t even gonna count to y’all. That Super Bowl’s gonna have to wait.”

Has anybody spotted Jackson on the KC nightlife seen?

“No, what’s he doing now?” Westport bar czar Bill Nigro shot back. “Maybe he’s behaving and growing up.”

Slow news day, HC? Jackson Mahomes? Tyreek Hill commenting on ANYONE’S personal behavior? Pretty rich.

      You are correct, sir…
Except, that in this case, no news IS in fact news. Given that Jackson’s disappearance coupled with Brittany’s “good behavior” is, well, “notable.”
      And a distinct change!

    – oh nooooo… don’t squeeze the Charmin/Mahomes. Pattycake Pattycake franchi$e man, create a league of wusses fast as you can. NFL did, afield and off… something about ‘feeling’s and being ‘awoke’ – take a bow/curtsy sports, 2022. Hey, let’s take a knee, share a hug and enjoy some tea & crumpets our tears for liberal fears.

As Steelers LB Jack Lambert said vicinity half a century ago, 1979 (‘they should put dresses on QBs’), Dawson (Davidson’s helmet 1970 still embedded, Len)/and peers rock ’em sock ’em era lived witness: look what they’ve done to the game, Ma.

He is gone and that is good in my book.

I am super impressed with how Patrick Mahomes has handled his whirlwind success. As his family grows, his career gets seasoned, and his marriage evolves, he is probably in for some tough times at some point. We all get them. I hope he can keep handling things well. But he has been tremendous for Kansas City so far and I support him.
