Seldom in the field of human conflict has so little been owed to so few…
We’re talking about Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes’ wildly controversial fiancé and younger brother.
Take this recent headline: “She Won’t Stop Until SHE DESTROYS HER HUSBAND’S NFL CAREER!”
That in reference to Mahomes’ fiancé Brittany Matthews.
Allow me to add, there’s no shortage of cheap shots out there aimed at the mother of Mahomes’ child and (presumably) future wife.
In a perfect world – heck, forget perfect – in an even halfway normal world, the last thing one would expect to see would be the love interest of the most popular person in Kansas City being demonized nationwide by any number of sports personalities.
I remember reading about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garappolo three years back just before the Chiefs won the Super Bowl and the San Francisco Chronicle was actually celebrating what a nice guy he was for going on a stripper date.
It takes a lot to form a consensus that the the town hero has a screwed up dating and family life. That and throwing the mother of his year-old child and younger brother under the proverbial bus.
Brittany however takes a backseat to Patrick’s younger brother Jackson Mahomes, a student at UMKC with a penchant for choking out lame dance routines on Tik Tok.
“So the nightmare season for our guy Patrick Mahomes seems to continue…” sports blogger JAMAREI said. “To make matters much worse, Patrick is constantly dealing with off the field drama. And it’s not some sort of Antonio Brown, Aaron Hernandez situation where the player is causing this drama himself. As I said in my last video about this topic, Patrick is actually a role model for kids everywhere, both on and off the football field. He always presents himself with dignity and class and overall seems like a pretty chill, Texas raised guy.
“But then you have his little brother and (fiancé)…And I’ve got to say, his (fiancé) isn’t quite as bad as his idiot little brother, but that bar is set so low it might as well be in hell.”
Descriptions of Jackson include his being Patrick’s “douchebag,” “retarded” and “disrespectful punk” little brother.
Brittany, who for some reason or other has elected to hang with Jackson on and off the field before, during and after Chiefs games, has left her own black mark on Patrick’s admirers.
“She RUINED his NFL Career,” reads a headline on another video by a dude called soju.
After the Bengals knocked off the Chiefs at Arrowhead, soju said, “The Twitter world and I suppose the world in general is pretty ecstatic about (the Chiefs losing). You might be questioning why there are so many Kansas City Chiefs haters out in the world, and it doesn’t really have to do with many of the players on the team…Rather it has to do with Patrick Mahomes family. If you weren’t aware his fiancé Brittany Matthews and his younger brother Jackson are essentially the peanut gallery of the Kansas City Chiefs. When the Chiefs win they act extremely annoying. The younger brother is involved in a lot of random Tik Tok dances that are very out of place and to be quite honest, pretty annoying for someone his age. And his fiancé’s not much better. Just last week when they won, she wisely decided to pop open a bottle of champagne and sprayed the entire crowd below her in freezing cold weather.”
soju’s overall take:
“If I’m Patrick Mahomes I don’t know how I’m dealing with that,” he says. “You know, congrats to this man not only for being an amazing quarterback but having amazing willpower. Imagine becoming the best in your entire field at such a young age, just to come home and deal with your brother and your (fiancé) just essentially acting a fool. I’m not sure if Mahomes knows this, but a lot of people are just turning on him and really rooting for Joey B – Joe Burrows – in like the blink of an eye, mainly because of his family.”
Sir Yacht‘s take:
“You probably think Jackson Mahomes is just an insufferable fool, wannabe Nickelodeon-acting brat with mediocre dance moves that mooches off his older brother Patrick’s career. And what you don’t know is, well, actually, you’re 100 percent right.”
After Jackson tried to kiss a girl recently in a Vegas mall, Big Draco said:
“Oh my gawd, my boy Jackass Mahomes was back at it again. Over Pro Bowl weekend he was back at it again, making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Now apparently my boy Jackass Mahomes has not learned his lesson. Patrick Mahomes, he needs to get grip on Jackass Mahomes, the way Jackass Mahomes jeans be having a grip on him. You know what I’m saying, those tight ass jeans he keeps wearing in the videos with that stupid ass haircut. This kid is like – I swear – my nieces and nephews they’re like between the ages of one and 10 – they got more maturity than this clown.”
Do you know who gives a shit about any of this? People who actually know who Sir Yacht, Big Draco and Soju are. Can you imagine if the internet or cell phone cameras existed when Len Dawson, George Brett, Willie Wilson, Clint Hurdle et al were carousing around KC?
People are no different now than they were then. Throw half a billion dollars at 20-somethings and you get over-the-top, foolish behavior. Every 21 year old wants to be internet famous and rich. Ever heard of TikTok? What internet/Twitter “bloggers” are pissed about is that the Mahomes’ are.
You may be right…up to a point, Big Jim…
However, we don’t live in the world of the 1960s and 1970s today. We are not prisoners of what Tom Leathers and Don Fortune choose to let us in on.
Which also explains why Jackson Mahomes has tens or thousands of followers who bear witness to his escapes, which he somewhat obviously relishes.
Truth be known, I’m not so sure his dancing on the memorial site of a deceased football great, trying to randomly kiss a young woman and Brittany’s pouring champagne on freezing cold fans at Arrowhead is an example of social media nobodies.
Just as Jason Whitlock’s behavior at that Patriot’s game years ago got him in hot water apart from anything related to the blogosphere.
Or when Jimmy Carter’s brother Billy careened into the public eye and suffered the consequences years ago.
The difference is, nowadays we have living examples of people’s feelings and reactions to boorish behavior. And if you live in the real world of today – meaning you are clued in to all thing’s internet and streaming – this is very much a reality that is growing and spreading.
People get fired and canceled for far less noticeable behavior today.
Fact is, many older Chiefs fans and the like do not fully live in today’s world in terms of technology. And that’s one reason I’m here to provide that glimpse.
Are we sure he’s the father of the child?
C’mon, man!
(as Joe Biden might say)
Who else might have done the proverbial deed? Surely not Jackson!
