Be prepared…
The very first line in “GOOD BOYS” contains an F-Bomb delivered by a 12 year old. Also be prepared for 90 minutes of funny dialogue coming from an angst-ridden trio of young boys trying to fit into the present day moment.
But while many moviegoers will want to compare the comedy to 2007’s hilarious “SUPERBAD,” the “GOOD BOYS'” focus is more on tween complications of growing up.
Both films were produced by the comedy partnership of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
“GOOD BOYS” is a day in the lives of three tight-as-a-knot, pre-teen best buddies who would do anything for each other—and in any situation.
But with a so-called ‘kissing party’ coming up neither Max, Lucas nor Thor know anything about the art of lip-locking.
Panic anyone?
No problem.
There are pointers like using one of the dad’s drones to spy on a young couple making out. Not a good idea. One bad idea now turns into the next involving everything from practicing on a love doll, stolen drugs and watching porn on the internet to a frat house paintball fight and the ins-and-outs of their parents’ sex toys.
I think you get the picture.
I DO believe that for these youngsters freely throwing around F-bombs and other adult adjectives will certainly make some older viewers uncomfortable at first. But they’ll get used to it as one comes to understand that these kids don’t really know the meaning of those words and expressions.
They are just mirroring their generation and trying their damnedest to be cool in the process.
So is this ‘Tweens Gone Wild?”
Not really.
I think you’ll get a kick out of it as you find yourself reminiscing back to how YOU handled certain volatile situations back in the day when puberty turned to discovery.
Just know what you’ll be in for when going to see “GOOD BOYS,” rated R!
My grade: B-
FILTH.
^^ Go watch Mary Poppins Prude. Some of us are adult enough to handle it.
But the children they abused in the movie are not adults. The ‘movie’ is close to being pedophilia.
