Chuck: ’60 Minutes” Host Laura Logan Nails Mainstream Media

It takers guts and brains to do what Lara Logan has done…

Many  conservative news outlets are reporting that the former 60 Minutes correspondent is coming into the light for the first time on the liberal bias of the 4th estate.

Logan’s home base for over a decade was CBS (and 60 Minutes) doing hagiographies of various officers and military personnel at war in the Middle East. Her politics, have been centrist and she never pretended otherwise.

Logan is known for her courage under live fire, persistence, intelligence, work ethic, not to mention a spectacular, you know, cleavage.

These attributes endeared her to her former bosses at CBS and to troops on the ground in the theater of our many wars over the last two decades – where some soldiers are e rumored to have joined the fight to get a glimpse of Logan in a t-shirt.

Then came Logan’s infamous Benghazi story on 60 Minutes.

It was based on the book, Embassy House and the testimony of its author Morgan Jones.

Jones’ “eyewitness” account of that fateful night was made up ex nihilo and swiftly repudiated…but only after the 60 minutes broadcast that embarrassed the swells at CBS.

By then Logan, a bumptious personality whose fame had provided cover for her impetuosity and fearless recons into danger – she was raped repeatedly in Egypt’s Tahrir Square during the Arab Spring by members of the Religion Of Peace – saw her career destroyed by her enemies (Christiane Amanpour) and her own hubris.

More to the point,  a few days ago, Logan weighed in on the over-the-top liberal bias of the 4th estate that has transformed 90% of the 24/7 news cycle into nauseating propaganda,

“The media everywhere is mostly liberal,” Logan said. “But in this country, 85% of journalists are registered Democrats. So that’s just a fact, right?”(adding that news organizations on) “one side of the political spectrum” …have a lot of “weight.”

“If they are all saying the same thing, the weight of that convinces you that it’s true,” she said. “You don’t question it because everyone is saying it.”

On top of which, Logan details the “anonymous sourcing,” agenda driven reporting that has become an accepted fact that American news consumers must sift through in hopes of ferreting out the truth.

I( say, bring Logan back!

In my experience, a “rebound hire” is often a good investment.

An older, wiser, chastened and more circumspect reporter – complete with the scars of recent humiliations – would bring more truth and justice to the already rising fortunes of the “voice In the wilderness” that is Fox News.
