Jack Goes Confidential: ‘Avengers: Infinity War’—The Wait Was Worth It!

This weekend Disney/Marvel ushers in the 2018 summer movie season by unleashing the Marvel Universe to its world wide fan base…

They did it two years ago in early May with CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and last May with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOL. 2.

But hold it right there, it’s still April, right?

Disney wisely moved up its superhero extravaganza AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR to (probably) give it an extra week’s separation from 20th Century-Fox’s highly anticipated DEADPOOL 2 opening in three weeks on May 18th.

Smart move!

What we have with INFINITY WAR is like the creation of the ultimate living comic book.

Two and a half hours of non-stop cinematic amazement.

To suggest the anticipation level for this film is through the roof would be an understatement.

Industry tracking as well as advance ticket sales show it well ahead of THE LAST JEDI. Some insiders even have it surpassing the opening weekend of THE FORCE AWAKENS.

This is the BIG ONE in which ALL of The Avengers and their allies sacrifice everything in an attempt to defeat the intergalactic tyrant THANOS before his blitz of devastation destroys the universe.

It’s a special effects dream come true—yet  with enough light moments to keep this cosmic adventure grounded and fun.

The on-board star power includes:

* Robert Downey, Jr. (Tony Stark / Iron Man)

* Chris Hemsworth (Thor)

* Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / Hulk)

* Chris Evans (Steve Rogers / aka Captain America)

* Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow)

* Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange)

* Don Cheadle (James Rhodes / War Machine)

* Tom Holland (Peter Parker / Spider-Man)

* Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa / Black Panther)

* Tom Hiddleston (Loki)

* Idris Elba (Heimdall)

* Zoe Saldana (Gamora)

* Vin Diesel (Groot)

* Bradley Cooper (Rocket)

* Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts)

* Benicio del Toro (Taneleer Tivan / The Collector)

* Chris Pratt (Peter Quill /Star-Lord)

….and  Josh Brolin as Thanos.

The (payroll) list goes on and on.

Impressions:

Instead of throwing the huge number of characters at us all at once, the film emplysthe feel vignettes tied together for the ultimate endgame.

In other words viewers are not completely overwhelmed by star/character power.

As stated above, the global anticipation for this film is immense and Disney/Marvel DOESN’T DISAPPOINT!

The scope, size and scale of production almost takes one’s breath away.

Many a moviegoer will want to see it (at least) TWICE for full impact!

Oh, and this isn’t even the entire story yet!

The rest will be on display on May 3—of 2019, that is!

That’s when the INFINITY WAR sequel is scheduled to drop.

    I’m not a fan of the special effects movies with all the same plots but an A wow…must be an exception
