KU did it…
Another Final Four; they beat Duke; won 14 Big 12 titles in a row; won the Big 12 tourney…and all with a team few believed could do any of that.
Without question KU coach Bill Self proved himself as the area’s all-time best coach and Kansas is the premier sports franchise from this area as well – better than the Chiefs and Royals.
Why?
KU basketball is an elite program.
The Chiefs were huge under head coach Hank Stram. The Royals never were – they were just good, not elite.
Ah, but and KU has the goods.
Since Larry Brown‘s 1988 title game win for the NCAA Championship then came Roy Williams and Self and tons of big wins and Final Fours. Sure, if the Chiefs start winning big with Patrick Mahomes and win a Super Bowl or two then maybe they’ll join the Bill Self elites.
Kansas needed overtime and Malik Newman‘s 32 points to win.
It was nice to see two hall of fame coaches battle it out with Coach K of Duke coming out on the short end for once. It was Duke’s first NCAA Tournament loss in overtime…KU had lost five over the years.
I’m glad for Self, Devonte, and all the Jayhawks.
They all contributed to this big win and gave the KC area such joy and a feeling of WE ARE A BIG DEAL TOO…
Now it’s on too San Antonio for the Final Four and Villanova who is already a 5 point fav over KU…maybe this will be KU’s year

I think the years of drug and alcohol use has fried your brain. The Royals of the last few years might not have been elite but the Royals circa ’76-’80 certainly qualify.

The Royals were a very good team under Brett 76-85 no question their lack of continuing that and perhaps another world series title then would have mattered but the fall was too hard after…30 years of nothing.
Well being in final four and being one of the most storied NCAA Basketball teams means KU sucks, then I guess you are right all I did was deliver what they do…hah…what a sad person you must be Jack, to hate for no reason. I think I did many nice things for KC including Stanford and Sons for 45 years and hundreds of name stars we found or brought here for the first time in history…but you have it your way. I’m sure you are a big contributor to the city and the world.

I would love to see kansas win but villanovas got guys that are taller…
better shooters….bigger and just outmatch ku.
Their center will play outside and pour in 3 pointers and ku’s big guys
will have to come out to cover him leaving under the basket empty.

My heart says ku but my head says villanova…..tough call.

2019? The golden anniversary of two great aberrations: Charles Manson’s heyday and the swiss chiefs same, 1969. No doubt the former will merit far greater coverage, even here in KC likely. Manson was finally paroled via the box in 2017… no such luck swiss chiefs fandom.

I appreciate your nice words…Look we all know the internet and social media today are for so many who are just mad at the world and themselves. It’s easy to use fake names and attack people and make up lies and say hateful things. Its harder to write stories on whats happening in our city and in the world. I try and to the latter. The more known you become the more trolls you inherit way it goes. I’m sorry a few people hate me who don’t even know me. They will continue to write hate mail. Way it goes.
Well its over Villanova trounced KU and ended their run, a great ride but a sour ending..sad but true. I think Bill has at least one more title in his future just not this season.
KU made the final four this year. They’ve got many players coming back.
The nigerian will be awesome as he learns more skills and he will play in the nba,
Newman will continue to improve..he’s a monster now..imagine after 2 more years
under self and he’lll be national player of the year.
And did anyone see the two mcdonalds all americans coming to ku in the fall.
They had a dunk contest and these two were incredible.
Self isn’t done yet. He’s got a national championship if we stays at ku.
Anyone who saw him this year knew he felt this was just the start of something
really big in lawrence.
I’ve broke bread with bill self and he’s a very
cool guy….and the best coach in ncaa.
He just ran up against a villanova juggernaut that couldn’t miss a shot…that’s the
way it goes.
And if you watched him you could see it on his face.
The jayhawks will be back….this next year could be the best team ever!
Can’t wait til november because the chiefs are so unfocused and have no clear
vision…that it will be november ku bball till we see a winner in our area.

thrills. It was a great season. At least for Johnnys/Nick and Jakes/Brewtop/P and L and hopefully if glazo gets Bobby Slayton back I’ll come down.

KACIE MCDONNELL (HOSMERS EX GIRLFRIEND) DID THE SIDELINE REPORTS.
Did you look phenomenol…and she had some incisive and great comments that were
better than pollard on the KU team cast channel.
Kacie did an interview with Rob Riggle and tore him to pieces….he’s really a jerk
and we condesending to her.
He kept looking down at her breasts and she looked like a real star. She’ll probably
do the national championship game.
She has improved dramatically and she spoke well. Maybe kcc should get her to
write columns on sports. She knows more than glazo.
