Glazer: This is the End, Beautiful Friend

There are four teams left!

In the NFC is Green Bay and Atlanta. The AFC has Pittsburgh and New England.

The Pats and the Falcons are both now six point favorites. Most, including me, think the Atlanta Falcons are the most complete team right now. Still I can’t go against Tom Brady and the Pats. I feel it’s their year…AGAIN.

Brady wants that MVP trophy to be handed to him by Roger Goodell. Then maybe he’ll hand Roger a deflated football, funny.

As for betting, it’s hard NOT to take both the dogs and lots of points.

So I’d tease both the Steelers and Packers for 12 each. I do think the Pats will win, but with Aaron Rodgers, that NFC game is a toss up. I like Green Bay’s chances. That would be a hell of a match up – Brady vs. Rodgers for the world title.

I know we’re all sad KC isn’t in the mix, but they had their shot.

The Chiefs are just not in the elite – they aren’t good enough right now. These four teams are the best and any one of them could go all the way. My bet is on New England, top quarterback, offense and defense. The Pats have the top winning culture. Something the Chiefs need to build here.

PICKS

STEELERS PLUS 12 OVER NEW ENGLAND IN A TEASE WTIH GREEN BAY PLUS 12 OVER ATLANTA

I had a good year in picks, let’s see how it ends.

Enjoy the games.

Just heard of the death of Royals star pitcher, Yordano Ventura. Very sad.

Late to your blog, CG… I would have went with GB, who has the best QB in the NFL in Rodgers. But, too many errors/failure to capitalize on Falcons mistakes the difference today; nothing ATL did especially impressed Kerouac.

Will go with PITT in the FC Championship Game, aka shady brady’s last stand. He will go down in a heap of overhype. The Superbowl, PITT over the Falcons (should the new england clam cheaters manage to get there, a tossup that could either way, and so, just on principle – I embrace integrity and not sham – will root for ATL.

    As for the swiss…

Atlanta WOW. Nice big win. Will wait on Pats/Steelers now…Matt Ryan was just amazingly great.

Thank God the Steelers got blown out. Us KC fans know the Pats would have blown us out too..now we have a week head-start on the healing process.

What seems pretty obvious to me is that the Chiefs didn’t come close to deserving to practically even be in the playoffs.

If by some fluke (like what happened to them all regular season long) they had made it to the games today – let alone the Super Bowl – it would have been a supreme injustice to the sport of football.

What Clark Hunt seems to be doing so well – just like his father – is hiring people like Carl Peterson and Marty Schottenheimer who are just good enough to maintain fan interest through the regular season and make millions of dollars for our out of town ownership.

And not a whole lot more

        • E.H. says:

I think Clark knows a deep, dark SECRET that he learned from his father.

This SECRET is so well kept that it would DESTROY almost every KC Fans hope FOREVER!

Cheatriots catch another break: injury to PITT’s best player Bell, some home-cooking officiating and manage to prevail. Not impressed… Falcons will eat em up and spit em out.

    Superbowl:

    ATL 34
    NE 27

Vegas would have loved to see you all yesterday. Hahahhaha. Wow.

  7. CG says:

YEP Jim, got both games wrong on the bets…hard to turn down 12 points on a tease with Packers and Steelers…I said Atlanta was playing great best of four but thought Aaron would give them a hard time…didn’t happen surprised both games were blowouts…I think Pats will be a slight fav like 3 points…

    • CG says:

      Just checked yep, Pats -3…

      • Jim a.k.a. BWH says:

        Jut ribbin’ you a bit, CG. It’s why I’m not a gambler. I didn’t see a blow-out in either game and yet……

I’m anything but a Patriots fan, but Brady is simply the best. The absolute best.

I’m hoping for a Superbowl that is as good as it seems on paper. The only thing I can ever count on is my Superbowl food spread being of championship caliber.

I thought the Packers would be a tough out but I did watch Colin Cowherd’s AFC/NFL predictions on Fox Sports.

Cowherd mentioned how Atlanta was scoring an avg. of 37 pts. their last 7 games after their bye…against good defense too. He said they had 2 playmakers in so many positions. Atlanta’s defense was better at home and healthier than the Pack. Plus GB scores 9 less pts. on avg. on the road. Insightful stats for sure!

Cowherd also predicted the Pats would cover..his reasoning was that the Steelers passing game on the road is weak..Big Ben had 20TD’s/5Int’s at home, just 9TD’s/9Int’s on the road. The Pats defense is maybe not the best, but very efficient. He also said the Pats probably wouldn’t turn over the ball 3x like they did against Houston(who has a GREAT defense).

In the end, Colin said he very rarely swallows pts. in the championship games but these were two exceptions..I think he has a lot of help making these decisions, which turned out to be spot on.

Another winner from the “fall flat on your face” pen stylings of the king of inept.

  9. E.H. says:

Pats will easily beat the Falcons.
