The 2016 holiday movie season kicks off this weekend with a bizarre psychological tale of double-revenge…
Think thriller with romantic eccentricities.
The first CLUE?
A weird opening sequence of overweight, middle-aged women performing burlesque dances.
My reaction: What have I gotten myself into?
But fear not, things STAY weird……
NOCTURNAL ANIMALS is a romantic thriller that combines shocking intimacy and gripping tension.
Alfred Hitchcock would’ve loved it.
Amy Adams stars as Susan. Jake Gyllenhaal as Edward. They were once married.
Now Edward sends Susan the manuscript of a novel he’s written—featuring him as Tony, the main character of a shocking story.
And the narrative exposes the dark truths about the two!
Confused? Then you’ll feel right at home with his mind bender reminiscent of David Lynch’s earlier works.
One thing is for sure, Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal are in rare form exploring the thin lines between love and cruelty, revenge and redemption.
Writer-director Tom Ford’s NOCTURNAL ANIMALS co-starring Army Hammer, Michael Shannon and Isla Fisher scores a: B.
JACK GOES TO THE MOVIES Friday mornings during Kansas City’s Morning News on 98.1 FM, KMBZ.
Jake is todays Bobby De Niro, he can it all and is in my opinion the best top star actor out there today. This one sounds very strange and worth seeing.
You’re right Glaze, Jake has more range than the King Ranch.
I totally agree!!!!!
