MR. AND MRS. SMITH it’s not…
That said, did ALLIED spell the end for BranJelina?
Was French siren Marion Cotillard the final straw?
Guess we’ll never know.
ALLIED is another World War II entry for Brad Pitt playing a Canadian intelligence officer who is assigned to a mission in Nazi-occupied French Morocco.
There he is teamed with French resistance fighter Cotillard posing as his wife.
Their mission is a success.
But their role playing soon gets overtaken by their own emotions and they, in fact, become real husband and wife.
Brad continues his undercover duties while Marion takes on motherhood.
But then the S*** hits the fan!
Seem’s Brad’s superiors possess strong evidence that Marion is, in fact, a German spy.
But IS she?
A guessing game that puts the couple through the wringer ensues.
It’s an interesting enough espionage thriller from director Robert Zemeckis but moves far too slow for my taste.
ALLIED grades a B-.
Thanks, as always, Jack!
Think I’ll wait to watch this on cable. Meanwhile, if you stand in the longest line at Walmart, one can read about Brad and Marion and how he was once again lured into marriage with a co-star, as he did with Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith!
Wait til you see “FENCES.” It makes up for a lot of disappointments of late.
But it doesn’t open til Christmas Day.
I’m also recommending “HACKSAW RIDGE” and “THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN.”
Can’t go wrong with either one of them!
Yeah bookmaking this wasn’t a bad determination great post!
