Glazer: Superstar T.J. Miller Returns to Stanford’s Saturday & Sunday

tjmillerbighero6It seems like only yesterday that T.J.Miller was doing his first headline weekend at Stanford’s at Village West in the Legends…

He’d just done a couple movies including the surprise hit Cloverfield and he was doing She’s Out of Your League which also was a comedy movie people loved.

T.J. has family in KC so he wanted to headline our club.

At the time he was not headlining comedy clubs, but we said OK and the rest is history. Miller went on to become arguably the biggest film and TV comedy star today.

His credits are endless.

We saw Miller in big films like UnStoppable, Get Him to The Greek, Rock of Ages, Yogi Bear, and too many others to name. Then he did several comedy central series like Mash Up. Today he stars in HBO’s hit series Silicon Valley. In just the last year he also had a major role in Transformers 4 with Mark Wahlberg. T.J.’s Big Hero Six movie won best animated movie at the Academy Awards. His other film, How To Train Your Dragon was also nominated and his voice became so well known he was selected to do a number of major television commercials (you see him now on three different ones).

And on this Christmas week he’s returning to Stanford’s.

T.J.MillerOn top of all that, T.J. was chosen to star in Marvel’s new movie comic book saga The Dead Pool with Ryan Reynolds. That comes out early this next year and he’s doing movie after movie. Miller even co-starred in last summer’s Odd Ball Tour with Amy Schumer that sold out Starlight Theater.

Miller will be doing Stanford’s this weekend for our Xmas holiday shows.

There’ll be two shows on Saturday at 7:45 and 9:45 p.m. and one on Sunday one at 8pm.

We are so excited to have him back.

I’ve written about him here several times. You may recall that he was close to my little brother Jack who died in a car wreck just a couple years ago and T.J. came in to do a special show in Jack’s honor. When I go to LA he always makes time to hang with me, we went to Tom Jones birthday party last summer.

T.J. just got married and is always working on a set somewhere, so getting him back to Stanford’s wasn’t easy with his work load. BUT HE’S HERE THIS WEEKEND.

It’s a chance for locals to see a monster talent up close and personal for way less than what he normally might charge. It should be a fun experience this Saturday and Sunday and the perfect nights out after the big Christmas holiday Friday.

  1. the dude says:

“When I go to LA he always makes time to hang with me, we went to Tom Jones birthday party last summer.”

Stop the presses folks, this man attended the party of a well cared for fossil.

    • CG says:

First off I wrote about that party. It was one of the best LA parties I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen too many. We should all have lives like Tom Jones. I didn’t know him before I met him there, very nice cool guy. Looked great. So my friend we all age. we all die, its the life we had that mattered. Nobody stays young. So to make fun of a man like Tom Jones for getting older is kinda stupid…like its his fault.

I read the putdowns on Harrison Ford being older…he is worth about one billion dollars and one of the alltime most successful actors. Boy is he an idiot right.

These people had extraordinary lives. Accomplished way way more than all of us, so remember you too will be old one day.

      • HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

we’re not talking Harrison ford…and now that you’re on
social security we unsedstand you don’t get out much…
but if tom jones is the highlight of a party in hollwood
the only question I have is did you catch his underwear he
        threw into the crowd/?????????????????????????????
Guy looks bad or he’s got a blind plastic surgeon.
But that’s cool. Glaze lives in the past with “stars” no one
under 40 know or care about.
Check the mailbox…and don’t forget the check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • the dude says:

I just think it is hilarious you manage to slip this tidbit in whenever you get the chance.

  2. Hot Carl says:

“the biggest film and TV comedy star today”

I understand you’re trying to get people to come to your club but that statement is probably funnier than anything Miller will say on Saturday or Sunday.

  3. Bob says:

    “surprise hit Cloverfield ”

It was one of JJ Abrams projects while he was riding high off Lost. There was no surprise about it. It was heavily hyped.

  4. CG says:

I will repeat arguably todays hottest comedy star more credits than most anyone that matters and two movies nominated this year one won…only others at his level are Kevin Hart who we brought to Westport before he got huge and Amy Schumer…

So when you try and put Miller down, please he makes millions now..he is a rock star he can do anything he wants now…anything…you sound stupid and it shows you know little about comedy entertainment and its stars…a fact not an opinion relook at this guys resume second to nobody and growing…

  5. CG says:

Know what as always telling you guys about a cool show with a great young star doing a small venue when he now only is a theater act…and most of you only spew hate and anger…very sad…then someone makes issue of attending a party for a life long mega star Tom Jones…lets see who else came Howard Stern, cast of The Office hosted by Jeff Franklin and John Stamos of Fullhouse all big losers and many more…its not bragging its a slice of life thats all. Yeah Tom is mid 70’s he sang and was great. I was never a big fan but God he’s got my respect…

    • the dude says:

You idiot. He is a comedian, not a rock star.
Last time I checked he did not have any musical albums to his credit.

    • stop it glaze…I’m on the floor laughing…
what did they serve at that party…..geritol…ensure….maybe some
thing for constipation for the guests.
      You’re a hanger on….a wanna be…..a fish in a little fish bowl.
no one cares and from these comments here you look the part of the
      fool.
seriously….bring on the hookers…strippers and hos. That’s what
these seniors on here really want.
show some pics of all these hot young women….maybe the people
here will believe the things you say…come on glaze…you’re a
good guy….stop trying to fake it!!!!!!!

  6. MGMaven says:

    “His credits are endless”

30 second bit parts in these, granted, more than I have done but quit trying to push this “star” down our throat

  7. CG says:

30 bit parts you are a complete moron makes millions doing ‘big parts’ yep like THE STAR THREE YEARS ON HBO’S SILICON VALLEY CO STAR TRANSFORMERS 4 WITH WHALBERG, STAR WITH RYAN REYNOLDS ‘DEAD POOL’ ON AND ON…YEP EARLY IN HIS CAREER HE WAS IN A MOVIES WITH SMALLER ROLES LIKE MOST DO..NOW HE IS A ‘SUPER STAR’ CAN DO ANYTHING HE WANTS…

AGAIN IF YOU WANT TO HATE FIND A BETTER AVENUE THAN ATTACKING A MAJOR CURRENT STAR AND ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD SAY DIFFERENT…SIMPLE AS THAT.

  8. CG says:

Again so simply sad to see people on here just hate and for no reason none…about a great guy coming to KC for Xmas to do shows in a small venue his last venue here was STARLIGHT…uh, it was T.J. ON THE STAR’S COVER PHOTO FULL PAGE NOT SCHUMER…end of story…yeah he’s bigger.

    • the dude says:

I don’t see any people hating in this thread. Just you overreacting to some silly comments.

    • HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

we just know after after all these years when we see and read bullshit.
Come by and see my signed autographs from bugs bunny/tweety /
wylie coyote/acme firworks…..these actors (?) and better known than
this miller dude…are ten times funnier…and more people know who they
      are.
p.s. ….get my money back from this guy from starlight. he was a mess.
sorry…when you’re #1 there’s no place for one of the worst comedic
      performances ever.
      All we got were excuses…late planes/missed filights/no sleep…well tell
that to the real stars of comedy.
I’ve seen them all…and none of rhe top ones made mistakes…
get my money back when you see him or i’ll come to stanfords
to ask him for his money back.
One hit wonder….but I do wish him well because things really cant
getany worse for this “last comic standing” reject.
and he’s not a star. go ask 100 people if they’ve heard of him and
at leat 80 or more will say no….I got money to backit up.
He was just so bad at starlight…and asthey say…you never get a
second chance to make a first impression…..

      • CG says:

Harley as always I can count on you to be a nut. Uh, I don’t think you know who anyone in comedy is for the most part…other than Bobby Slayton your fav we’ve had every year and I don’t think you even have come to that…T.J. is great. Thanks for your input…pssst….have you noticed my near perfect pro picks in the NFL, does that make you happy as of late? Oh yeah my point spread is fake too…sportsandodds.com of Vegas is a fraud. THEY ALL ARE. Happy Holidays Harley you God Damn Nut whoever you really are.

        • bobby was up at improv last time in kc.
you gotta pay these guys to get talented ones.
But saw him in vegas…like tj at starlight he’s getting
          old with the material.
Saw him behind curtain seeing who was sitting
          in front row.
but he is original but if he’s such a good friend
why’d he do his stuff up north at your competition.

  9. still north in his heart says:

TJ Miller is hilarious. CG is a fool though. Thanks for booking a Sunday show that isn’t interactive Clue Dinner theater.

You never mentioned how much are tix?

    • HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

if they’re a dollar per ticket…that’s 90 cents too high.
sorry…theis guy flames out faster than elmer fudd.
And this guy did a voice in yogi bear. Too bad I missed it.
Would have loved to see his “talent” in full bloom. hahahahahaha!

  10. wondering says:

Best of luck, I hope he brings in some big bucks for you.

    Merry Christmas.

  11. Jim Lammers says:

Thanks for putting up the notice. I love TJ Miller, mainly from his great role on Silicon Valley. I bought a pair of premium tix for the Sunday show, looking forward to it!!!

  12. Phaedrus says:

Craig, I think the issue is that most of us aren’t as enthralled with “celebrities” as you seem to be. You tell me this guy’s been in movies (or is a professional athlete, etc), I say big effing deal. That might have impressed me when I was a kid, but it doesn’t do much for me now.

It’s not hate…it’s just different perspectives.

    • CG says:

Well thats interesting. “We’re not impressed with celebrities” ok….ITS AN ARTICLE ABOUT A GREAT COMIC THAT WE UNCOVERED YEARS AGO WHO IS A GREAT GUY COMING OUT OF HIS WAY TO BE HERE ON XMAS’ SIMPLE as that…my club is about ‘BRINGING IN NAME ACTS, CELEBRITIES’ so I guess I have to mention their credits…that’s all.

T.J. as a couple nice folks on here is one hell of an act and worth mentioning..that’s all. Notice I don’t talk about our stars each week many are household names from Tommy Chong to upcoming Sat. Live Star Tim Meadows. It’s what we do.

For so many comments to be about some of this stuff is insane…LIKE DON’T MENTION HE PLAYS FOR THE CHIEFS WE DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT…ok…if you haven’t noticed I kinda write about people who are well known for something…but thanks for asking. Happy Holidays to you all.

  13. the sad part is that glaze tries so hard to be “somebody” that he ends up getting
hundreds of negative responses to his stories.
But glaze tries so hard to be a big shot that he gets shot down because truth be
known no one cares about his opinions besides the fact that 90 per cent of
them laugh at the guy and they can’t stand his arrogance and his over the
    top attempt to be somebody.
I know more famous people than you glaze. Have worked with them…not just
said hello or saw them at some shindig in Hollywood.
that might be a great conversation for a 21 year old…but most of us could
    care less.
when you pick 4 winners in 18 weeks….talk about how bad the royals are…
tell people they should boycott the chiefs and arrowhead when they become
the hottest team in the nfl you make yourself look like a fool and an idiot.
    Its not personal….
So try stop being a loud mouth…no one cares about your terrible picks
except me and k. and k couldn’t hit the barn with his picks…8 straight misses
on the chiefs…..give me a break.
And you try to impress the young hotties with names like tom jones? they go
who’s he? and there goes your chance with the broad right out the window.
be smart….don’t try to always impress people…because you don’t impress
anyone except some wide eyed 22 year old secretary at some law office who
knows nothing about the old world you came from.
We enjoy your articles…not much else to read herebesides my and k’s commenetry.
After tthat the rest of the responses are pretty boring.
In other words…no one really cares. Youown a business where 90% of the
people have no idea who’s appearing at your joint.
AS far as bobby…saw himin vegas….not a great show but still funny. He willnever
equal rickles with his stage material…and he’s having trouble drawing crowds and
your “good friend” stiffed you recently when he appearedat your competitors
    up north.
So stop b.sing us. We’ve all been around..I love comedy and know many of the
top up and coming comics watching comedy cenetral and other neetworks.
Its nothing personal…its just youtry so hard tro impress people that they just
love to cut youdown. Look at tkc and eventhis story.. The great per cent are
negative to you and your claims.
We’re not stupid…we knowclowns and egotistical fools when we see them.
You try so hardtobe somebody in this little fishbowl town with your stories and
you don’t even write the stuff on tkc except the few positive comments about
    yourself.
The shtick is old. Just be a good guy….don’t try to always impress people…
because we can see thru you and your stories.
YOU seem like a cool guy tohang with for a night…but you’re too much of
a name dropper and filled with youself to let people seethe real glaze.
wish you lots of luck with tj. Hope you make lots of dough. Despite my
proving you wrong every time…you’re stilla cooldude..and without you and
k and me….kcc would be out of business.
And just stop trying. And if I was you I’d stop writing at tkc….those animals
are way to much….I contest your football picks because lets be honest you’re
    no seth Rothstein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Bob says:

Just off the top of my head:

    Will Ferrill
    Adam Sandler
    Jack Black
    Zack Galifikanasasas
    Paul Rudd
    Jason Sudeckies
    Jim Carrey

    • CG says:

Meaning what…yes TJ is now in that group no argument, he is younger and takes over…due to age and being the fresh super star…his new film opens in Feb with Ryan Reynolds all over tv and media today..THE DEAD POOL from Marval …another biggie for TJ…he has movie after movie lined up and tv series and too much to do…he’s too busy him coming here is a major favor…to us…great guy …yes I agree TJ is the new Adam Sandler for sure and will be doing as much…no doubt already is…good call..Jim Carrey was huge loved him all these guys have slowed down due to aging, and being loaded and not having to work so hard these days..Will and most of these guys are mid 40’s to 50’s Miller is early 30’s so he gets all the young guy stuff simple as that…all of them great talent…its TJ’s time now…he earned it.

      • this tj guy won’t ever equal any of those guys…no matter how
young he is. Stars perform longer nowadays (did you know
that or do I have to correct you there too)
Are you in love with this guy….you’d think that you thought
        he was some god.
Maybe he makes it…big deal….you can continue for another
100 years saying you “made” this dude….just like you
made Seinfeld and the rest of the comics who played
        your dads place.
Like they even remember who you are????????????????????????

      • KCMonarch says:

His set at Starlight was weak at best. Hope he has better material for your two drink minimum strip mall show.

      • the dude says:

        Jesus F’ing Christ.
The Movie is “Deadpool” and the company is Marvel.
        Good Lord.

  15. CG says:

As many of you have had to notice T.J. is everywhere on tv right now. Constant DEADPOOL spots even on ESPN they have him hyping todays NBA games. And his other two commercials for Vodka. He’s just naturally funny. Nice to see a good guy do so well. Stanfords had several big stars start with us or early in their careers work Westport or the others, but this young man has just been the nicest after he no longer had to be, very cool.

  16. CG says:

T.J. was as predicted wonderful not only to work with, but on stage. Unlike his Starlight show this past summer, everyone that came was more than happy with the magic he preformed. His ‘Improv’ with the audience is next to nobody else, fantastic. He got cheers and even standing ovations. He played to three full houses and all stayed to meet and greet him. It was a very nice Xmas gift to those who spent it with T.J. Thank you T.J. for being such a stand up guy and coming home for the holiday.
