To think I picked them to win…
I thought this was going to be a much better year for KC. I felt the Chiefs were a post season team, based on their preseason, Jeremy Maclin, and a new beginning.
Was I ever wrong. LOSERS LOSE.
The Chiefs are for sure a loser. Again. They have no ability to win big games. None. They were a disgrace last night.
They gave away a 14 point lead in the second quarter in mere seconds to Denver’s Peyton Manning. Manning decided to take the game over from his new head coach. He went back to running the offense. And from that point forward we got our butts kicked.
Yes, the Chiefs had leads in the second half, twice. Including a surprising late touchdown run instead of our usual play it safe field goal only. Which let Denver and Manning tie us with seconds left. Which they did. Jamaal Charles then gave the game to them on an incredible horrid call with 37 seconds remaining, and the Chiefs needing a field goal to win.
We handed off the ball, Charles fumbled and for the second time Denver with a few seconds left scored – game over – 31-24 Broncos, the only time they led in the game.
When it mattered we couldn’t get pressure on Manning or stop his 20 yard throws on second and third down. Alex Smith had moments but also tons of sacks and a key interception near the Denver goal line late in the game. We came back only to give the game away.
After the game 39 year old Manning was thrilled, it was one of his happiest moments in the NFL. He realized it was a miracle comeback. He knows the division is likely theirs again. KC is still a loser and doormat for Broncos.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid and crew have failed again.
Smith is just ok at quarterback. Reid is no genius. And all our offseason moves look to be for nothing. Next week we lose to Green Bay and then chase our tail to be 8-8 or 9-7 season, in what will, as always, be a meaningless season.

We still are not a good team. We are losers. No I don’t think KC will come back from this all time loss. It was like the playoff loss to the Colts two years ago – a joke and disgusting. The Chiefs now have a national rep as jerkoffs in big games. They find ways to lose games they should have won. Boy do they ever. So sad for our fans.

It’s time for another quarterback and defensive coordinator.
They turned the ball over 5 times and in critical field placement. You can’t do that and expect to win. Just my opinion, but this looks like an offensive issue rather than defensive.
Letting a young defensive back get “torched” repeatedly and backing off of putting on a good rush with a creative scheme of any kind falls to the defensive coach.

Also, Manning’s physical skills are clearly in steep decline. He can barely throw a spiral any longer, and his passes just simply float through the air instead of the major zip who used to put on them. I was astounded at how bad he looked throwing the ball. Really weak.
I noticed that, too. But he can still put the ball where it needs to be when it counts the most.
Good comments. Yes Manning is in decline, clearly…slow, wobble throws…a target. He likely will not last many more games without an injury. I agree this crappy organization has sucked for decades and have many joke games. The Chumps get no respect nationally and they deserve none. Too many games like this one. Hey I have won all my big bets in Vegas betting against them over the years. Last night I did take them, against my better judgement and got what I deserved. A loss.
They have no shot in Green Bay. Manning will fade and Chargers win the West. I agree new quarterback, some offensive linemen, a new d coach, he sucks and has since he got here…lots of talent no consistent anything…God’s sake you have three strong receivers now, Maclin,Kelce and Connally use them…Charles also is in decline a bit, still good not great…hey we ran him into the ground the last six years…he carried a bad team into looking ok, they stunk and still do.

We have WON NO BIG GAMES NONE. We do what we did last night in all major games especially nationally televised games. I actually thought we were a team on the rise vs. a team whose window was closing…theirs is closing but ours never opened. The Chiefs are losers and have been its in their head. Simple as that.

Six months shy his 40th birthday, still winning games if with a greatly diminished tool set physical skills, and still better anyone the Chiefs have or have had, maybe ever. If not now, when? How you gonna beat him? Anyone honestly believe the swiss ‘Captain Checkdown’ would’ve done what Manning did, comeback, given the same scenario his?
So much for that ‘bombs away’ new and improved ‘big play’ WR corp theirs… Maclin doesn’t look so much like Otis Taylor as Elmo Light- er, Wright (latter an overhyped former #1 Chiefs pick who ended up scoring 6 tds… in 5 years.) Maclin is on pace gain slightly more than 100 yards above what Dwyane Bowe had 2014, same number tds – zero – and Maclin will have needed 12 more catches/chances in order do so.
The other side, anybody here, seen my old friend Albert? Can you tell me where #12’s gone? Waldo Wilson had 0 catches last night, now on pace 24 grabs in 2015. 649 Days now (21 games) since a Chiefs WR caught a td pass an game that matters: 12/8/2013, Bowe caught KC’s last… maybe the last theirs ever. Do we care yet? According to local reportage, a number of the players said they did not; their noses be longer the current goose-egg streak theirs.

Conclusion: this was a preview of what happens when the Chiefs play a good team, as it has in the past same. Regular season as post, QB play is the differencemagnified even more than it was yesteryear.

Not to mention those hideous all-red uniforms Chiefs wear occasionally: the most horrendous looking combination in football. Ketchup bottles or nosebleed, am not sure how best describe the visual impression. Believe they won the previous two? games/times they wore those rags, but now that the Broncos whupped the Swiss while the Chiefs were wearing them, hopefully will never again be subjected said.

They were -4 in turnovers but still had a 7 point lead with under a minute in the game.
Two of those TO’s happened in the red zone, their lead should had been more.
Sean Smith will be back for the 4th game. Fleming will be back on the bench or on the street.
Jamaal Charles puts too much pressure on himself to make up for their offensive shortcomings. No way he fumbles twice in a game again this season.
Their defense is strong. When Smith returns and Poe is full strength, it could be top 5 in the league.
Alex Smith is a problem. Zero 3rd down conversions. Cannot find or hit passes to his WR’s. Can’t escape from pressure, can’t throw rolling out. O line should improve but I don’t think this will cure Smith’s shortcomings He is what he is.
All in all, most of these problems (except A. Smith) can be corrected. Reid will need to scheme the offense around Smith’s shortcomings. 9 or 10 wins, maybe a playoff game.
That’s it. But “suck”? No.
Sorry suck is strong. You are right, without an elite quarterback you go nowhere. Nowhere. So that’s where we go…bye bye again. Alex is ok, not great and so the Chiefs are ok, not great and never will be without a great quarterback. Could be another lifetime, there aren’t many.

Send Smith to Buffalo where they actually know how and give a damn about pass protection. All that team needs is a QB that won’t throw 2 picks a week. Given time to throw… I know, it’s something Alex has never really had a lot of… Smith puts up Rodgers type numbers. Don’t “believe” it? STFU and go look at his 1012 stats.
Smith is no where near as bad as you landless peasants make him out to be. The problem in KC is a lack of real coaching, and one of the worst lines in the history of the NFL. I takes TIME for deep routes to develop, and KC can’t make more than about 1.5 secs of it on a given play.
