The Judge made it clear during federal hearings on Deflategate that he wasn’t pleased by NFL commish Roger Goodell‘s decision to slap Tom Brady with a four game suspension…
He asked both sides to compromise and bring him a new deal.
They didn’t.
Both stood on their decisions to fight the case. Meaning the judge must make the final call.
Sounds to me like Brady’s gonna win the court case.
He may get a wrist slap, but it was made clear in the hearings, there’s just not enough evidence to convict Brady of much of anything. There’s no testimony that he ordered the footballs to be deflated. No video. No audio record. No phone calls.
Brady didn’t cooperate and his cell phone not being turned over is an issue.
But there’s not enough there there to warrant a four game suspension and badly damage New England’s hopes for Brady’s 7th Super Bowl and 5th win.
Brady can also appeal the decision, which could drag things out until next year allowing him to still play this year.
In the end this was a major case of player hating on Goodell’s part.
Goodell’s punishment was outrageous given the situation and fact that Brady is merely one of many quarterbacks that prefer more or less air in the balls.
Nor was it it proven that that’s a determining factor in how the game goes.
Brady proved that point by winning the Colts game after his balls were checked in the second half. He killed them and won the Super Bowl with outstanding play and passing. The balls were checked and were fine.
In the end it was much to do about nothing.
Brady is the best modern day quarterback in the NFL.
He has lived in the Super Bowl. Nobody has played at his level in NFL history. Six Super Bowls and 4 wins. More important it was over a 12 year period. No other quarterback has done that and likely nobody will ever do it again. He is the best of all time.
Let’s drop this nonsense and move on.
nice article glaze. you’re right…but nfl could get his phone and might
prove otherwise. the nfl is terribe at investigations…but its really
a non matter……I think all teams do things to give them an advantage
so the nfl should move on and the owners should shut up and take their
billions to thebank.
Oh…and glaze…Harley predicts Hillary wns in 2016 and that you hit the jackpot.
Good luck
Your pal
Harley
Thanks Harley.
Brady and Hillary — can’t trust either one.
By the way..Hilary should win, based on what likely will happen. She will not be indicted on ‘lap top gate’ nothing happened. She sent and accepted emails that were marked ‘secret’ likely not too secret…just for convience nothing more..or we would have already read how ‘secret’ they were. So in the end hurts a bit but not a ton, lucky it came out early.
HOWEVER. America is fed up. Violence is off the chain, lack of respect for lawmen, terrible economy for middle America, so on…enter Donald Trump Mister I can fix it. I really think he has a shot to win this thing. Matter of how he plays his cards and what happens in America over the next year. Hey the stock market crash helps him…he ‘can fix it’ maybe he can.
So yes Harley Clinton should win, BUT, Trump is in this thing and could beat her.
sorry glaze…i’ll repeat this again….
to be elected president YOU MUST HAVE 40-47% OF THE HISPANIC
VOTE…NO IFS AND OR BUTS.
NO WAY TRUMP GETS EVEN CLOSE TO THAT IN A NATIONAL
ELECTION…HE GETS TRUMPLED BY ANY DEMOCRAT.
Plus once a billion dollars of ads are focused on his personal and
business life he’s a sure loser and as manytop republicanshave
said…if he’s the nominee its the end of the republican party.
I hope he gets nomination….look at moodys recent prediction
shows democratic landslide victory.
Only people attracted to trump are the old white men and the
racists who are afraid of te direction of the nation.
sorry…gotta go with the facts and figures.
I don’t totally agree, but yes its now uphill for him to beat the demo. I’ll reserve judgement for a few months.
by all means let’s have another “Stump for Trump” post. haven’t had one yet this week and I can see CG and Harley are anxious to duke it out again over him.
not really….I just present the facts and stats…
and that is no republicancandidate can wn presidency wihout 40-46
per cent of Hispanic vote….its that simple.
the only one who might get closewould be bush…but he’s got to find a
way to beat trump.
secondly the deomcorat…whether its Hillary or joe or whoever starts
off with 240 electoral votes….they only need to win a few
battleground states.
andthird….what almost all republicans in power are saying is that
if trump get nomination the republican party is down the drain.
I don’t know if I agree with that one hundred per cent but they would
be damaged with trump….especially with him getting only five or
10 per cent of Hispanic vote.
as moodys said…its a democratic landslide…just the demographics
of the nation…..and harly says its all about the numbers.
Brady wins. Goodell is an absolute idiot.
I HAVE made an effort to be out in front of things. We wrote about this when the thing started. I said then it was stupid and Brady did nothing wrong. Again we are proven correct. I’m sure you guys appreciate my being out in front on such issues…thank you. TOM BRADY NOT GUILTY WILL PLAY EVERY GAME NO PUNISHMENT AND THERE WILL BE NO MORE HEARING END OF STORY
“Brady is the best modern day quarterback in the NFL.”
– definition of ‘best’? Football being a ‘team’ game played by ‘I’ndividuals, who sets the parameters? Who or what is the final arbiter? Answer: each of us – subjectively (no different than the farce known as Hall of Fame enshrinees, another exercise in lack of consensus and consistency. There’s no such thing an otherwise amorphous ‘best’, anything.)
Re: Brady, if ‘winning’ is the definition, several QB’s have better winning %’s, post season and/or regular, among them Starr, Otto Graham & even Daryle Lamonica.
If ‘stats’ be the measure, several QB’s are clearly ahead of (better?) than Brady, in numerous categories too numerous to list herein.
“Nobody has played at his level in NFL history. Six Super Bowls and 4 wins.”
– measure of ‘success’ a ‘team’ concept, the 1960’s Green Bay Packers are peerless: Packers’ featuring QB Bart Starr won 5 in 8 years, unprecedented NFL history (they lost a 6th by but 3 points in their very first Championship Game.)
“No other quarterback has done that and likely nobody will ever do it again. He is the best of all time.”
– facts obliterate these claims, whether the measure is “modern day” or “all time”… by extension, Vince Lombardi is ‘best’ coach (certainly better than Belichick, Brady’s coach during their time together) using the same measures the QB examples.
Thankfully, we have a clear winner ‘best’ Presidential candidate:
TRUMP, in a landslide.
🙂
