Glazer: Rain, Rain, Go Away — KC in Grips of Tanning Drought

f9356f0a37775901cead2630e21fd70aWe’re in like month No. 3 of rain…

Almost daily – if it’s not raining it’s cloudy and ugly.

Woodside opened its pool early this year because they thought it might be a hot spring. They opened all four pools in early April, and yet they haven’t had one decent weekend yet. Memorial Day was packed with people hoping it would clear up, but it never really did – cloudy and drizzle.

My pal Gary Amble at KCTV says we have more rain coming all week and into next.

My Lord, when will it end?

I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life here or in other cities I’ve lived in like Los Angeles or Phoenix. If this had happened this past winter, we’d have been under 10 feet of snow. And don’t you love it when the weather people tell you how, “We needed this rain.”

Really? Yeah, maybe for a week or two but not the entire Spring!

To be honest, it really hasn’t affected our city that much in the business world.

71yX2EY8XbL._SL1500_Well, outside patio’s like our new one have taken a hit, I guess. But overall things seem to be going as normal. And there’s only been like one Royals rainout so far. Even Rockfest slithered by with record crowds amidst all-day rain threats. Everyone I spoke to that went said it was ‘killer fun.”

There’s also a tan shortage.

Nobody has one except for the folks who pay for them.

I leave for LA Saturday. I called the hotel I’m staying at and asked how the weather will be this weekend.

“Oh, you are in luck,” they told me. “It’s been so hot, but we expect some light rain this coming weekend.”

Figures.

I’m sure it will clear up by Monday when I’ll be stuck having to work indoors.

Damn.

according to lezak and the rest of the scientists..its supposed to be ahot summer….
but we’ve still got 10 weeks left so why bitch?
they know what they’re talking about.
But the scientists on the weather chanel predicted this and they are saying
we’re in for a hot one.
don’t know….too many people hate scientists….but the rule is that
    California needs this rain…not kc.
and its been great for the royals…they got some great weather in april that
    pumped up their attendance.
    good luck in l.a glaze.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life here or in other cities I’ve lived in like Los Angeles or Phoenix.”

Of all the silly, lame, weak, half-assed insults and observations I’ve seen on KC Confidential (and I’ve seen a bunch of all of the above), this has to easily be the silliest, lamest, weakest and halfest-assiest. REALLY? It rained here more than it did in LA and PHOENIX? You never saw it rain more in a city known for being a desert and that spawned all those “yeah, but at least it’s a dry heat” jokes and another one that inspired it’s own song by one hit wonder Albert Hammond?

I only wish you’d lived in a few other places like Namibia or the Atacama Desert so you could REALLY let us know how moist it is around here in Cowtown!

      Gotta hand it to gavin…

Living in Tucson for four years and being in the LA/San Diego area when I was in the Navy, that was a poor choice of comparative cities
