President Obama has hit a home run and I was right all along!
By starting the USA military campaign against ISIS alongside Middle Eastern allies, Obama has brought together nations with the same concept of philosophies concerning world domination that are contrary to the world domination philosophy of ISIS.
And as I‘ve stated before, the concept of “My friend’s enemy is my enemy, and my enemy’s enemy is my friend” has proven to be a successful way to build allies in the Middle East. In fact as a side thought, this concept is universal and has been used by cultures throughout homo sapien history.
To get the countries of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and The United Arab Emirates (UAE) to have their air forces bomb ISIS positions is a major accomplishment for the Obama Administration. Although most Americans will never know the monetary savings to them of this unity.
Because I’ve criticized Obama in past posts many have thought that I’m a conservative.
This is not true.
My position on the issues is based on a realistic, practical and Common Sense search for solutions to problems.
The fact is, I don’t care if someone labels a solution as conservative or liberal, I only care if it solves the problem. I’m neither a conservative nor liberal, I am a realist. My philosophy is based on finding which solution is best for ordinary Americans based on a realistic approach to helping them live their lives better.
For example, attacking ISIS and the new terrorist organization that Obama is also degrading makes life in America safer for its citizens.
And having Middle Eastern Countries participate in the bombings leads to fewer American pilots being at risk and American families suffering the sorrow of losing a loved one. However, I have no doubt there will always be fighting in the Middle East.
Billions of years from now as our sun goes into supernova there will be fighting in the Middle East while many earthlings will be climbing into rocketships to populate another planet.
Looking at this from a practical standpoint, Middle Eastern countries should participate in making their region safer for themselves. This is just Common Sense (Calvin Sense) or to put it in religious terms, God helps those who help themselves.
Another measure of how Obama has hit a home run is shown by the fact that Fox News, which is no fan of Obama, is admitting how right his strategy is now and they’re hard pressed to find criticism.
I’m assuming of course that everyone knows CNN and MSNBC are liberal media sites and Fox is the conservative media site.
I wish a station existed that would just report the facts and not slant the news to the right or the left.
Maybe this is the one point I’m not being realistic about but being overly idealistic.
We all have our idealistic dreams .no matter how realistic we may be. Unfortunately, unlike Spock we cannot all be logical all of the time.
In any case, I was right all along in my last posting wherein I posed the question, “While Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon have agreed to give support, the question is what type of support and how forceful will it be?”
My second question was “What’s the real value of getting Middle Eastern countries to help to fight Isis?”
Those important questions have now been answered. And we now know that Bahrain, UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia are using their air forces in the battle against ISIS. That they will have some skin in the game.
We also know – just as I predicted – that Lebanon and Egypt have too much internal strife going on to be of much help.
The question of to what extent Iraq’s army may help us is yet to be determined. And now we’ll see if they stand and fight instead of running as they have in the recent past.

I can get this stuff watching tv….calvin…write something interesting.
where’s whinery when we need a punching bag ?????????????????
Here we are protecting borders created by those bastions of racial equality, the French and English following WWI, which were thrown together in a manner no logic can explain.
Our “friends” find it convenient to side with us because this particular bunch of terrorists and murders would like to have their heads on pikes along with ours.
Thank god we now have a plan to deal with those murderous thugs who are the worst threat to humanity ever. Although we did find 50 other terrorists which a US official described as 50-times worse than ISIL.
Perhaps it is time to let them settle it themselves before we “help” them anymore.
Keeping the populace in a panic with hobgoblins, mostly false, is the primary purpose of politics.
They should have listened to Lawrence when it came to drawing the lines, Orphan.
Excellent point. Just finished “Lawrence in Arabia”. That war was for nothing, but if anything positive could have come from it, it would have been letting Lawrence “draw the lines”.
I have been following Calvin for a while and in previous blogs he basically said that same thing as you. Good points.
How much did Obama pay the Islam countries to participate?
If that’s what it took to get them in, it was money well spent. They need to be in this fight. ISIS does present a threat to us, I’ll agree, but this is a cancer in the Middle East’s backyard and they need to remove it. Having neighboring Arab States united against ISIS and the related “gangs/thugs” sends a message to them that we can’t.
If if we didn’t pay them directly to get in, we did indirectly with our purchase of oil.
calvin…go back to whatever you do and do it.
