Both our pro teams had big Sundays…
The Chiefs, who were on the brink of WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR won a game on the road. Hey, it was in Miami where they never win. OK, Miami is as banged up as the Chiefs and just an okay team to begin with, but hey a win on the road is a win on the road. And with a big score, 35-14.
More important the Chiefs no name defense played very well and two new stars showed up – Knile Davis with 132 yards on 32 carries and Joe McKnight with two touchdowns. Nice.
So was I wrong about the Chiefs? Are they a post season contender?
Will they now win more than 8 games? UH NO, they are still a pretty bad team. Not as bad as they could have been. I give them credit for having the heart and desire to win, but they’re still gonna have a tough year. Just too many injuries and not enough talent. Still that win in Miami was a good one.
Hey the Pats don’t look so hot. The Chiefs will give them a tight game coming up.
The Kansas City Royals avoided the sweep by Detroit.
Billy Butler has a nice day going 2 for 4 to end his Royals career at Kaufman Stadium. However, today is the biggie. If somehow the Royals can win that rain out delay game against Cleveland then beat them in the regular game, well then they are back in the division race. However if they fall to two back or more, it’s a tough road with only few games left.
Look I give the Royals credit.
With virtually no hitting at all, they stayed in this thing all year.
They still have a shot at the postseason for sure. However, their record is about the same as last year, it’s really more a case of Detroit slipping. They drew 1.9 million people this year, the best since 1991. The Glass family is happy. Are you? I guess we’ll know that in a couple weeks.
So the Royals beat Tigers 5-2, they’re still in it baby.
Saturday it was O-V-E-R and Sunday they are still in it, baby? I do love the way you vacillate on your Royals predictions, CG! There is something soothing about knowing exactly what your column is going to be the next day based upon a win or a loss by the hometown teams. In…..no out………in…….I mean out…….in…….maybe out……wait, in….
You, my friend, are the Hokey-Pokey of sports scribes. Only thing left is to “shake it all about.”
Cheers.
Nobody flip flopped. I just said nice wins, what am I suppose to say. The truth, they matter not. The Royals are done with division race, Detroit won…it’s 50/50 if they make playoffs, same team as last year with less hitting, worse. Hows that. ITS OVER…Chiefs stink, they will win a few games cause AFC is very weak. They still stink and don’t contend at all.
Jeeezus, lighten up Francis. Just giving you a little crap. My point was that the Royals are LITERALLY one win and one Detroit loss away from being back in 1st place for the division. Hardly a reason to declare it O-V-E-R. Wouldn’t you agree?
I have no idea how the whole thing is going to shake out with the Royals. Offensively, it seems like there is no way they can get it done. But with 6 games left for KC & Detroit, it doesn’t seem impossible that KC could go 4-2 and Detroit could go 3-3. A win tonight with Ventura and you are looking at finishing 3-2 in the last 5. I’m not a gambler, but I wouldn’t consider those long odds. Would you?
Gun to my head, I think the Royals grab the 2nd wildcard spot. But, no reason to give up on winning the division at this point. JMO, buddy.
… and the better team doesn’t always win, nod Miami; then again, one with the most points isn’t always victorious either.
Two NFL lightweights battled & when the do-si-do had finished, a winless 0-2 vs the merely mediocre .500, “should have seen what the other guy looked like” image left, or as it is known in the parlance, be hard to tell one loser from the other.
The obvious difference any in this game, the usual: the QB. Case the Dolphins, a lack thereof. Tannehill his name, accuracy ‘not’ his claim to fame. He is nigh on what KC faced in 2013, regularly, a succession of no-names, 2nd/3rd stringers otherwise who turned an pretender into KCinderella – for a short while. Alas, luck only going so far, running into larger Andrew of INDY, Chiefs super dream became a super nightmare, coach & team back into pumpkins.
Upshot: not impressed yet again by this latest incarnation, Chiefs. Serendipitous-do creating the illusion KC has a a pulse, delusion flatlines next Monday when Brady & Co., even past their prime, come into the town football favor forgot and shatter said.
~ Game Notes of note ~
* KC’s sieve (otherwise known offensive line), once again laid out the welcome mat, and Smith was laying upon it 5 times officially, several more within MIA’s grasp.
* For a third straight game Swiss Chiefs defense forced no turnovers; in fact, gave up two more themselves offense, now the only NFL team without a defensive turnover.
* ‘Future Hall of Famer’ watch: Ford with another goose-egg, performance. KC’s other guaranteed HOF’r according the over-hype, Kelce, provided yet another dropped pass, which is becoming his weekly MO. Upon reaching the end zone on one he didn’t drop, preceded show yet another ‘prima donna has been born, color Lombardi unimpressed, ditto Kerouac.
1-15 instead 0-16… hip hip hooray.

Patriots 52
@ KC 10
Umm Mr. Kerouac we kind of kicked Miami’s ass.
Monday Night at Arrowhead, Not gonna be pretty for Patriots.
Kraft can’t even get Hi Five from Marky Mark

You mistake do-si-do for ***-kicking, just as fandom mistakes / imagines 1-2 equates “back in the post season hunt”; alas, ‘that’ dog won’t. They haven’t kicked any nigh on 45 years now, only thing they kick themselves & opportunities, away, annually.
Didn’t see the 4th quarter because DEN vs SEAT demanded watching.
Yet, what presented through 3 quarters – best RB field/rushing team same: MIA’s, 7+ yards a pop. Best defense was MIA same, 5 sacks & that many more unrequited. Only at QB was MIA the lesser, said KC’s only edge.
A Monday Night rout appends, Patriots the router, Chiefs the routee.
k and glaze must be hanging together…no way pats score 52 in arrowhead.
you “think” you know everything…but every week your b.s. is wrong…
please explain where you get this. Obviously you know more than most
of the hillbillies on kcc…but you baffle with not with brilliance but
with bullshit.
just like glaze.
Way to cover your ass about the Royals after saying the season was O-V-E-R 36 hours ago.
I’m not the season as far as division race is over..they are still in wild card hunt. Which is 50-50. I say NO. I have never changed my mind on them an OK team, but still losers.
“Hearne: Scribe Says, ‘Royals Season O-V-E-R’”
Hence, you are now backtracking.
glaze is a phony. he uses fuzzy math to count his wins with his tease b.s.
He isv not at 70%….he is at maybe 40%….I explained why glaze can’t
intelligently explain how he got to 70% when he takes the spread move and
counts the win of one game when its win both games or lose
This is false…and phony.
luvya glaze but this falsehood has been perpetuated fro too long. hahahaha…
now explain how you usephonyt math to everyone on kcc and tkc.
thanks
yourvfriend
harley
Harley nut case it was and is always up on the site before and after the games ONLY you seem to have an issue with the numbers. Yes I have made an error like last week a couple times and then fixed it. 70% wins over three years. This season has started poorly for me. And many like me. With rule changes and parody in NFL and even college its getting really tough to call much for big bets. NO really dominant teams to count on these days.
Teases are one game not two. If you win both its one, if you lose one or both its one. See.
wrong glaze…its like foing ot a buy one get onefree
sale…and saying “give me the free one..i’ll buy the other
one later”
this is the biggest ruse ever. You cover one game/lose one
game…you’re actually falling belowthe hitsa blind dog
could hit. You take the points on both games but only
count it as one loss….wrong again.
your explanation is more b.s…..thanks
