Speaking of possible wild card teams from the heartland…
This year’s Kansas City Royals remain in the running for a wild card berth, the deck is stacked against them, says comedy impresario Craig Glazer.
“The problem with the Royals is there are just too many teams in front of them and you have to have losses by the teams ahead of you,” Glazer says. “There are like three our four teams ahead of them and they have to pick up losses by all of them to advance. But hey, they’re getting it done right now, they’re just running out of time.”

Maybe they should run some highly dubious “stings” on Deetroit and Cleveland to get them put in jail.

CG’s take reminds me of those who predicted the Chiefs would not make post season back in 2006 under a similar scenario.
Herm Edwards team ‘won their way’ into post season while the other hopefuls ‘backed out’ via losing, contrary to those who claimed the Chiefs ‘backed into’ post season. They all had a similar chance and dream of post season, but only KC was up to the challenge.
That the Peyton Manning-led Colts were up by but a single score at 16-8 well into the 4th quarter before winning 23-8 affirms Edwards Chiefs were deserving of their berth.
As for the Royals, I’m not a fan but as history has proven never say never.
Agreed. Anything can happen and often does…I don’t count them out yet, they are right now one of the four best teams in the American League…the bad start may have killed them..hey if they win 8 of 10 coming up..yeah they have a shot..could happen…but?

Really, Craig? I can recall several times this season when you said the Royals suck, they have no talent, fans are delusional and anyone who thinks otherwise is a loser.
You counted them out a long time ago. Counting them back in now makes me wonder if there’s some sort of rhetorical “tease” that lets you be wrong but somehow right.
