I can’t believe they’re up to No. 6 already…
Who would’ve thought it possible when THE FAST AND FURIOUS kicked in some 12 years ago? If there’s ever been a film series that’s stuck to its formula of fast cars, leggy women and emotionless dialogue, then this is it.
Here the global blockbuster franchise tracks an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across Europe, and the only way to stop the outfit is to match them at street level—or something like that.
But who really cares about the storyline?
It’s all in the fast and furious action and there’s more of it in this fifth sequel than ever before. And that’s a good thing for worldwide fans of the series.
OK, then chew on some of these great lines from the soundtrack:
“There’s never nothing. There’s always something.”
Or how about:
“Show me how you drive and I’ll show you who you are.”
(You’ve gotta admit THAT’S HEAVY!)
And then there’s: “I ain’t telling you shit” followed by “I was hoping you’d say that.”
Add crash after smash and a battle on an airport runway that never seems to end and you’ve got eye candy made in gearhead heaven.
In all fairness the race through London and especially around Piccadilly Circus is something to behold.
There’s even a disclaimer at the end advising us that what you’ve just seen was actually executed by professional stunt drivers. In other words don’t try it on the way out of the theater parking lot.
Hey, if you’re a fan of the series you’ll love this high speed melodrama.
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Gibson.
Together they help FAST AND FURIOUS 6 score 3-1/2 out of 5 high octane fingers.

“Hey, if you’re a fan of the series you’ll love this high speed melodrama.”
– guess I’m not; watched the first ‘episode’ for the ’70 Dodge Challenger… by the second one, had seen enough. I’ve yet to see a sequel (or quel’s, ‘part whatever’) measured up original, any genre.
Imagine remaking ‘Bullet’ – or ‘Vanishing Point’ (they did case the latter… gag) or that ‘Gone In 60 Seconds’ (double gag) computer-animated piffle; as memorable & realistic as a double scoop Milli Vanilli.
Or any these: ‘The Great Escape’, ‘The 10 Commandments’, ‘Cape Fear’ or Sir Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho'(s ad nauseam)… have seen but one movie remake that I enjoyed much as / more so even first – ‘The Defiant Ones’, 1986 made for TV effort compared the 1958 screen version Portier & Curtis; I must have struck my head (several times) on that day, pre-viewing.
If modern fare be progress, let me off back in the 1960’s/early 70’s…
Vroom! Vroom! Beep! Beep!
Take one of these movies over a Glazer story any day.
“F&F6” opened Friday to $36 million which projects to a $110 million opening weekend. That would make it the biggest “Fast and Furious” grosser—EVER!
Another 3 1/2. There are so many terrible movies. You should post a review of one so I can read what you think of a terrible movie. No wait. it would get 3 1/2 lol
