I just want to take a moment to welcome all of you to what I hope will be an even more exciting website for Kansas City…
As Hearne explained, I will be taking over the ownership of this site starting next week. And I want to assure all of you readers that the quality and basic concept will remain the same.
I think we all can agree that Hearne Christopher has done an incredible job over the past four years. Having said that, understand that Hearne has moved to Lawrence and needless to say is very busy with his new home, wife and family and a new website for that town.
Hearne has promised to continue write at least one or two stories a week for the next several months.
I will keep most of the writers on KCC, especially Jack and Kelly, possibly a couple of others. I’ve also reached out to other well known Kansas City personalities to contribute to the new site, including Nick Wright for a sports column, Johnny Dare for big time entertainment. I also want to bring back the Mermaid and I’m going to speak with Julie Jones at Hot 103 Jams about coming on board to give us another angle on what’s going on in KC from the urban core’s point of view.
Stanford’s and Sons will be adding a podcast this summer, that will feature celebrity guests and comics performing at the comedy club. It will be co-hosted by Chocolate Becky, who did an outstanding job on 98.9 the Rock.
I also want to stop some of the personal attacks in the comments section, so I will likely be eliminating vicious comments from Smartman and SuperDave and possibly a couple of others.
In addition I am reaching out to Harley here and now to contact me at the club and do one column a week.
I know that will be a real hoot.
I’m looking forward to the new KC Confidential and hoping all of you will stay on board. And I think with some new writers and angles, we can pick up several thousand more readers.
One more thing, I will add the betting lines from Las Vegas for the the football season from the website will be scoresandodds.com.

mike: this isn’t a joke. Tony has an article up about how CG is now banned from the site. Hearne’s new wife is tiring him out and he had to defer to a young buck, so he picked the most juvenile guy in KC.

Hey Mike Epps, star in photo with me, is at Midland tomorrow, Saturday…funny guy, great person…he’s come along way..I may go backstage and hang with him, usually do…the number 3 urban star in the nation behind, Kevin Hart and Katt…not bad. Mike did time with my little brother at Springfield back in the day…learned his lesson…very sharp
