When it comes to post work partying, timing is everything…
At least that was the case for Shelton Travel head honcho Mark Ebbitts. That after Ebbitts narrowly missed having a front row seat for Tuesdays explosion at J.J.’s restaurant just west of the Country Club Plaza.
“Mark was lucky to get out,” says KCC movie man Jack Poessiger, who doubles as a travel dude at Shelton. “He usually goes across the street for a drink after work and I often go with him. We close at 5:30 p.m.”
The blast went down shortly after 6 p.m. smack the middle of Ebbitt’s normal watering schedule, “But he left four or five minutes before the explosion,” Poessiger says.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is, “It blew out the windows at Shelton Travel across the street,” Poessiger says. “I haven’t been down there yet today, but it’s open and they say it’s freezing cold in there. They haden’t gotten the windows replaced yet when I talked to them.”
who the hell uses a travel agency in this century?
The same people that have rotary phones.

Yeah BS suprisingly you have two options with travel: save money by flying by the seat of your pants sans reservations (which saves a lot of $ suprisingly, you’d be shocked what some of these euro hotels charge when they are half empty and you walk up to the desk).
The other option is to get everything as one package deal. The travelocity type sites really don’t do as good of a job with exotic locales as they do for the USA.
If you want to find the cheapest place to stay in Vegas: internet
If you want to find the cheapest deal on 10 days all inclusive at a 4-5 star beach resort within a 10 hour plane ride you are best calling a travel agent.
Truth is that with the shit world economy these places that are ridiculously expensive (like Ian Fleming’s Goldeneye in Jamaica) are half empty. That’s their dirty little secret. You get the beach all to yourself, but the amount of drunk women is greatly reduced.
