"It" grrrl Holly Starr is on the cover of this month’s HERLIFE magazine…
Inside Holly announces she and her husband are going to have a baby girl. But she says she’ll still do the sexy 38 The Spot spots as long as she can.
The story says that Holly’s also on Hallmark cards, billboards, in newspaper ads and is doing runway modeling locally and nationally. Her meals get comped, she gets to keep her designer clothes, she has free access to concerts, sporting events and so on. And she has a similar position in Las Vegas for 38 The Spot’s sister station there.
Make no mistake, Holly’s worked hard to get where she is today.
She even went to LA a few years back to try acting and modeling. She landed small roles in movies like DEEP IMPACT and KRIPPENDORF’S TRIBE and TV appearances in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and THE PARENT HOOD.
"With the fact that I could never adjust to the morally bankrupt city, I asked my agent if I could terminate the contract and go back home," Holly tells HerLife. "Although she understood and respected my Midwestern values, I was told I had to fulfill the commitment of the agreement.”
Now the question is, is there a smoking hot, local lady who will take Holly’s place?
So far the answer is a loud NO.
Not that we don’t have many beautiful women here. But none of them have been able to catch the eye of the local media like Holly Starr has. I’ve met most of the woman on radio and TV in town over the last few years, and with few exceptions None of them have caught the eye of the general the public. Not like Holly!
That may be more the fault of our small-minded media than the girls. And radio doesn’t have a young, single hottie right now. None. One that has a lead role on a big time program. And TV’s not much better.
I spoke with Holly right before she got pregnant. She was in her workout clothes and doing some material for NBC and THE SPOT. She explained that she rarely uses make-up or dresses up unless it’s for work or she has to be out in public.
She watches her diet and hits the gym almost daily.
More importantly, she seems to be the real thing – a very nice lady with some morals. Now why can’t I meet someone like that? Oh I did, then we got divorced. Musta been me. Holly is still a great rep for KC.

Do we really have an ‘it’ man? If so who? While sex sells, it seems in short supply in KC. Those who have it can’t show it for fear of being cast out. In many ways Kansas City still has that small town brain. We aren’t really very open minded are we.

Holly works for the local programing placed on NBC with KSHB, however she has done work for other networks both here and in Vegas. I don’t know all of what she has done. Her main work is for 38 The Spot on KSHB which is the local affiliate of NBC and plays their shows. I did see her doing a similar job on TV when I was in Vegas this past year.

Do you have the C-Section to save the vag from becoming a slosh bucket, or destroy the vag to avoid C-Section scars and save the modeling career? Breast feeding can be hard on the lungwarts too. Women really do have to deal with some awful stuff in life don’t they?
Is Holly on KSHB too? I thought she was just on KMCI (38 the Spot). I don’t spend much time on Channel 41 but I don’t think I’ve ever seen her there … I could be wrong.
I met her once at a Royals game. Sweet gal and very easy on the eyes.

Yeah we have NBC judge and former contestant on the show Rich Voss. He just did a great doc on “Woman Aren’t Funny” with his wife comic Bonnie Macfarland, who he met on the NBC show Last Comic. Rich has several specials and was on Down and Dirty with Jim Norton on Showtime, he is weekly guest on Oppy and Anthony Radio show…good guy, tough comic. His movie has Lisa Lamponelli,Joan Rivers, Rossie O’Donell, Sarah Silverman, Chirs Rock,Dane Cook, and tons more, very funny and informative, will air this fall…uh, the point is some woman are very funny.
P.S. we did Weiner with Arnold story a few days back. Keep up geezer. Not you guys on NBC another person….

I too have worked with Holly. She is everything rolled up into one. You could look for years and not find a better gal. And btw Glaze you could have mentioned she won an Emmy for her gig in Vegas for Vegas TV. Busy girl. Too busy to join on us on air. But hell, she doesn’t have a face for radio.

I am not a Glazer fan in particular but have found his articles to be informative and entertaining. This isn’t the first time he has wrote about Holly but when he writes about her I dont feel like he is such a creepy stalker like Tony. I have seen Holly in person and she is nice to look at but she seems real nice too. One of the few good things about this boring city for shur.
