GH, you’re so good at this, I never have to listen to sports talk.

Pinkel’s boast that they could have scored 80 on McNeese State is the kind of comment that an idiot makes right before he gets his hat handed to him.

Great observation on Lockett’s comment. I think the correct way to phrase that is, Snyder will always go with the smarter guy if he has no athletic guy to run the Wildcat.

    ___

GH: Pinkel wasn’t trying to be flippant, more matter-of-fact. Either way it sounded kind of wrong — especially if you spent $200 or $300 to attend the masacre. If I had coached Beasley, I would have played him at QB, corner and on special teams — no matter what he posted on his Wonderlic.

Just one Husker quote, Greg? Are KC Husker fans still on time-out after deciding to head to greener pastures?

    ___

GH: I have yet to drop $40 to watch my ‘Skers in protest of their patsy non-con. This week (in Washington) they get out of time out. Next week (South Dakota) they’re back in.

Did KK discuss how good UCLA looked this past weekend?

I have a friend who was a grad assistant at K-State during Bishop’s tenure. He said that Bishop is the single dumbest person he has ever had in class and as he lectured he could almost see the words come out of his mouth and bounce off of Bishop’s forehead.

I’m sorry but how the hell does the coach of Northwestern and Colorado get to call any stadium not “big time”? I mean, yeah, he’s right and everything, but the stoners at Colorado and the wonks at Northwestern aren’t exactly known for making their respective places exactly intimidating.

    What he said:

My plan for the rest of my football career: upend conventional wisdom, surprise critics and make the improbable seem like no big deal.

I couldn’t bring myself to drop $40 for the Husker games either Greg. It’s a lot of fluff that tell zero about how good the team really is. We’ll find out more this weekend.

Barnett: “Not only was she a girl kicker, she was horrible!”

Nice GB, very nice. What a stand up guy.

GH…Johnathan Beasley wasn’t that good. I think you mean’t Bishop.

I wasn’t implying that Pinkel was being flippant – he’s too dumb to muster that kind of nuance in his practice of the human language. He was just being Pinkel which describes a level of forethought and consideration that resembles Forrest Gump’s brain in Joe Beden’s body.

    Nice Tyshawn Taylor impression, smartman.

The state of Missouri is producing some pretty good QBs these days. Three starters in the B12 plus Scheelhasse at Illinois? Not bad.

Wow, Ptolemy is really jealous of HCGP. Sorry KState’s glory years are long gone.

Ptolemy reminds me of the song “Old Bastard” on Ben Folds’ Songs for Silverman album. The chorus goes

Why you have to act like you know when you don’t know? It’s OK if you don’t know everything.

Pt, yeah I meant Bishop. Traveling today so I’m extra clueless.

Just read Mellinger’s column on K-State’s Daniel Thomas while lunching on a “Big Jim” pulled pork sandwich at Rasberry’s BBQ in Macon, MO. Execellent read. DT for da Heisman!

Win, lose or draw I love watching my Jayhawks on TV. This odd scheduled game sure made for a (more) fun Friday night, even if we lost. The other team looked pretty good, 1-2 on the year….. Keep your Chin up Coach Gill
