Glazer: Give Mel Gibson a Break!

OK, so I’m a Jew and should hate Mel Gibson...

I don’t.

In fact, I kinda feel sorry for him. Especially if it turns out he never actually did hit his girlfriend. A personal private phone call should be just that, private. Aren’t there laws about that?

We don’t know what she did to egg him on because it’s not part of the recording she made public. She knew she was recording the conversation, so she could be careful what she was saying while Mel had no idea he was being recorded.

Again, not to excuse Gibson’s radical comments on blacks, Latinos and his past remarks about Jews, however up until now he’s committed no serious crimes. It’s not like he’s a member of the KKK or a Nazi. As far as we know, anyway.

This to me looks like the curtain coming down on a killer Hollywood career.

One could argue that next to Clint Eastwood, Gibson has had the most successful movie career of our time. Huge movie star with more than 10 top box office hits over thirty years. And more.

He’s also a fine filmmaker and director like Eastwood, with movies like BraveHeart, Apocalypto and

Craig, This is actually a coherent story about life. Not just the usual crap you write while contemplating you navel and puffing out your chest about how it “used to be”.
I look forward to more…hope that’s not asking for too much.

For once you are right Glazer. Mel is getting screwed. Let his private life be private, unless he is breaking the law, that is not clear in this case.

I said I would not hate on you Craig. You are comparing your friends problem with Gibsons. Mel Gibson hates women, Jews, Blacks, Mexicans and anyone not white. Why would you stick up for him? I agree he was a great movie star, but thats no excuse for his behavior. So no I don’t agree with you.

I just love when the real you comes out Craig. You are an egomaniac like Gibson. You think women are second class, you have made that clear. Now I find out you don’t even dislike a jew hater. You belong back in Holly weird my brother.

Thank you! Thank you for having some perspective and grace on this threadbare issue. I agree with what you have said – these are stupid actions, not crimes. Thanks for your restrained voice of reason.

Heard you on Dare this morning. Glad Johnny straightened out your dumb ass. Gibson is a prick. You should see that. Don’t be blinded by his film work. Yes its sad to see this from him, but “you feel sorry for him?” He’s a mulit millionaire, what does he have to bitch about? Come on Glazer, this guy is not worth defending.

What the hell is up with you? Defending Gibson? I am usually with you but not on this one. He is a bad guy for his behavior. I find the Sonny Landham story very interesting, but its not the same.

you are about the easiest person in the world to figure out. let me break this down:

if mel = famous, and famous = rational excuse for being a moron

    and

sonny landham = famous and famous = rational excuse for being a moron

    then and thusly,

craig glazer = famous, and famous = rational excuse for being a moron

    then

craig = rational excuse for being a moron

only one problem there broptimus prime:

YOU’RE NOT FAMOUS. bring back $1 pitchers and i’ll “think about it” but until then, forget it.

Mr. Glazer, great story, makes sense. However I don’t agree with your position. Mel Gibson should have his privacy, but if he hit her and said all those things, he is not a person to admire. Movie star or not.

So much for Gibson being involved with King of Sting. Love your work, but sometimes you are out there a bit. Maybe thats what makes you of such interest to us.

The recordings I’ve heard on the news appear to be obvious fakes. Mel’s wife appears to be reading a script.

Also, Greg, I do not care whether you are a Jew or not. Why do Jews always want to tell us their religion/race?

    Who cares?

And your point is?… Mel is an asshole and he is obviously treating her badly. No he should not be disqualified just because he’s a great actor. You do think women are beneath men and it’s obvious in the articles you have been writing. I disagree with you on this and I think you are being a male chauvenist.

Hitting girls is never ok. No matter how perfumed your shit gets, we are all Americans and if Mel doesn’t like it then he should fuck off and die. There are loads of problems we are all having to deal with right now in this country and Mel is abit dark age for any of us. God, what the hell is the matter with guys like that!!!

    Really?
Your friend sounds like a solid guy.

On June 25, 2008, Landham announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Mitch McConnell on the Libertarian line.[5] The same day Landham called for genocide against Arabs and referred to them as “ragheads”. His comments were made on the political radio show the Weekly Filibuster.[6] Three days later, on June 28, the Kentucky Libertarians voted unanimously to withdraw Landham’s nomination, citing his comments were not in keeping with the party’s platform and values.

Mel sounds drunk and pissed and bat sh*t crazy. Love does that kind of crazy sh*t to your brain. I’m hoping some ex of mine doesn’t have any recordings of our fights. Hell, I hope my current wife has never recorded our fights.

That said, Mel should know better. He has been nailed before for ignorant remarks. I would be surprised if he comes back from this. Not saying he can’t or won’t, but I would be surprised.

Craig, WE did not create these celebrities. They chose their profession for the fame, money, girls, etc…It’s on them, they are accountable.

Oh and by the way, telling someone that they need a bat upside their head and that they will bury them in a rose garden is assault and against the law.

Nice story, normally I think you are full of sh*t, but I am always entertained. And for goodness sake quit wearing such tight pants out on the town, it’ll be your fault if you get raped by a pack of cougars…

Jam, the reason Glazer started this story with I am a Jew and still not mad at Mel is that Gibson had a rant when arrested for DUI and yelled about how he didn’t like Jews, mister informed.

Craig, and to all the usual posters. Of course Craig defended Mel. That phone call is simply proof that Mel Gibson has not lived in the real world for a long time. If I were ever to get that famous, I would hope that I managed to keep my friends around me to keep me rooted in who I am. Invariably though, guys like Mel wind up surrounded by yes-men and toadies who are doing their best to feed off of them.

To some extent, Craig has a similar thing happening here. He is about as famous as one can get, here in Kansas City. And there are those who todie up to Craig trying to get the things they need…so I am sure it is easier for Craig to look past the things Mel has said and identify with what the man must be going through.

Now, do I agree with Craig, no. Mel needs to step away from Hollywood and the big bucks and get back to his roots. He needs to forget about being Mel Gibson and remember how to be a regular guy. I doubt he will. And until he does, I know that I will not support him. I don’t care if he stars as the villain in the next Spider-Man movie…I won’t see it til I can buy it second hand at a pawn shop…so I know none of the money will find it’s way to Mel. But I applaud Craig for speaking his mind and finding ways to keep us all entertained here in Cowtown. Craig needs his own radio show.

Craig ‘you are a man for all seasons’ as well. I realize that you have fans and enemies alike. You don’t really know me, we went to jr. high together at Meadowbrook. Always found you of interest. So I am aware of your achievements, which are vast and your ups and downs. No I am not a Mel Gibson fan anymore, but you make a good case. I also think his career is closing due to age and Hollywood moving to a different type of film then what he does. We have not heard the last from him I asure you.

After wading through all this muck about Mel and his anger issues and Craig’s curious Marion Berry outlook on women (“the bitch set me up”), I believe Kevin Meany would tell Craig, “That’s just not right.”

You live in the public eye, you waste away in the public. Mel loved all of this publicity when he was “Mad Max” (which seemed pretty much spot on)and now we’re aghast at his loss of privacy and that he’s a guy with a temper. Crap, have you SEEN him? He looks like he’s gonna snap at anytime. I just wonder what the ex Mrs. Gibson has to say about all this. When you leave your wife and 116 kids to go doink someone less than half your age, all I can say is karma’s a bitch and her name at Oksana or whatever her name is. Mel, first rule of threatening, leave NO trails.

Mel Gibson obiously dislikes Jews, due to prior statements about a year ago. The present “tapes to his wife” has not been proven to be Mel Gibson. It sounds like Gibson, but not proven to be him. As for striking his wife, why did she not press charges with the police, when he struck her?
I do not defend or condem Mel Gibson. I am not a juror in this matter, therefore, I do not, nor do I care about the subject at hand. Furthermore I am not interested in the Linsey Lohand matter either. I am tired of seeing this kind of dreck on the news. This country is faced with far more serious problems that need to be solved.
Regarding my comments about Arabs. I call them “camel dung shovelers.” I also said that after 9/11 we should have bombed all of the rag heads in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Pakisstan, and Afganisstan back into the sand. I stood by thoes statements in 2008 and did not apologize for them, and I stand by thoes statements today.

Nice one Craig. The only thing I had a problem with was he was complaining she dressed too much like a prostitute. What kind of guy complains about that? I love it when my girlfriend dresses up. She looks good and she knows it. I’m happy to be in public with her because all the other guys wish they had her too.
