Hearne: Rockfest Deck Stacked Against Stackhaus

Does anybody really want to put the kibosh on one of the most successful outdoor promotions Kansas City has to offer?

I mean, besides dog park dilettante Aggie Stackhaus

Apparently not.

Not only did the powers that be at the Parks Department and Liberty Memorial react with veritable yawns to the fiery-tempered parks commissioner’s rant about pulling the plug on Johnny Dare and The Rock 98.9 FM’s wildly popular

Heanre…you could put all your “hot breaking”
    investigative stories about rockefest into
    about 4 lines.
    1. Muddy rockfest with no tities for beads.
    2. 55,000 people tromp thru mud listeing to
    rock music and smoking pot.
    3. Rock fans tear up grass area normally used
by gay guys and old world war 1 veterans.
    4. AEG, who promised kc the world to get
their sprint center built and bring
in a pro sports team that never happened
brings in thousands of grass spreaders and
hundreds of rolls of turf to replace the
    dead grass.
    5. Old stupid political woman says stop the
rockfest. Mayor, being more concerned with trampled grass than crime and sewers screams
    “rock on”
    6. Johnny Dare calls woman names…get his
listeners to email the old b*tch and
now rockfest will last til eternity

We get it. The story is so freaking old. Now
move onto something relevant and important in
    your highly read blog.

Bob Lewellen is right. With Aggie Stackhouse, it’s ready fire, aim. It’s all about her when she’s on some board or council. I covered her on the KC city council for KMBZ. I was hardly impressed with her near lack of leadership.

jojo, you are such a grumpy old man. maybe you should have gone to rockfest, and inhaled. It might have cheered you up. I find it odd that the Funk doesn’t just replace Naggie Aggie on the Park Board, since she does not vote the way he thinks.

    tracy…you’re a grumpy old wicked woman…
    i do inhale…and I’m not old…unless
being in my 40’s is old.
    I am happy…i am having a ball…just hope
people like you stfu and keep rading my
stories….its just that hearne has worn this
    deal out….its not a big deal…throw some
seed on the ground…call george toma and
    its a non story.

JOJO, you claim it’s a non-story and “so freakin old” but yet the editorial is in TODAY’S KCStar! The concert was only Sat, and Stackhaus comments were made Monday OF THIS WEEK. This has nothing to do with Hearne wearing this one out. And if he had, why’d you bother to read it and then take time out to write a couple paragraphs on his worn out story? Why not move on and let it die?

    Just sayin.

When I thought more about all this, I realized ROCKFEST IS THE BIGGEST EVENT OUTSIDE(maybe inside)ARROWHEAD IN KC,MO PERIOD(of the year).
So YES IT WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR BIGGER THEN EVER. Aggie likely helped matters cause now Johnny has a marching song for next year…Aggie lucky for you I live in Fairway or I’d take your seat and job…think younger dear.

Oh Bob, if only we could limit jojo to a couple of paragraphs!

And yes Craig lucky for Aggie, and all of us, that you live in Fairway.

When your movie gets made you should think about licensing that old Mac Davis tune for the soundtrack..

Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble when you’re perfect in every way. I can’t wait to look in the mirror, I get better lookin’ each day. To know me is to love me. I must be one helluva man. Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble, but I’m doin’ the best that I can.

Hey, you know the difference between Craig Glazer and God?

God doesn’t think he’s Craig Glazer.

    hey…its a rock concert…not a bible
    class…and it’s a fun event…and hearne
    didn
‘t get to see some breasts so he’s mad…
aggies mad because the grass was torn up…
tonys mad be cause the star wrote about it…
man d snacker is mad because he thinks I
rant…but man d snacker is a loser with no
    brains…
funkhousers is mad because aggie wants to end
a fun event and funky man doesnt want to lose
the “hemp” vote in t5he mayors election.
The one ww1 veteran still alive got out of
his bed and pulled his feeding tube and yelled..
    “I love rock n roll…rock on…lets see some
    titties”…then died from cardiac arrest…
and the gay population said “lay it baby”
..referring to the sod that will replace the
    mud.
so everyone got mad…and in a week everyone
    will be happy…..

Smartman, now that was really funny and yes I know and like that song. Mac Davis cool guy kinda left the scene too early.

I just enjoy reading something and then all the comments that change it into something else. Why does everything I read on here always have to turn into a Craig Glazer bash… WTF did he have to do with any of it????

sheesh, kids, there was a rain or shine contract with parks and rec. The city made at least a quarter of a million dollars just for usage (and likely another quarter mil in revenue). If they had rescheduled, the city probably would have made them pay all over again, becuase, after all, they signed a rain or shine contract….see where this is going? I had to work that day, but the many I know who attended, aren’t pot smoking kids, just music fans who were willing to pay to enjoy some live bands. I am guessing the city got a cut of the gate, as well. So, all this squalking from naggie Aggie and her insinuations that Parks and Rec was being generous by “letting them use the park” is crap. Although I agree with him, Johnny Dare and Aggie are cut from the same cloth, they both believe their opinion is as gospel.
