Starting tonight, the KC Strip party trolleys are joining forces with KC’s popular First Fridays in the Crossroads arts district.
“We probably got 50 emails asking for a stop there on First Friday,” says organizer Bill George. “So we’re going to do it. We’re going to stop right by Extra Virgin, Michael Smith’s place. You know what? We think it’s going to be great. I think there’s going to be a huge demand for it.”
On one hand, First Friday patrons will have a painless way in and out of the crowded Crossroads for dining and party points from Power & Light to Westport, Martini Corner, the Plaza and Waldo.
The flip side of that coin?
“They’ll get more people down there that haven’t been to a First Friday,” George says. “I guarantee you there are tons of people who have never experienced First Friday.”
Riding down and back from Brookside or Waldo may be just the ticket, George says.
In addition to the trans, riders will receive promotional discounts from eateries and drinkeries such as Sol Cantina, 810 Zone, McFaddens, Kelly’s, Charlie Hoopers and Hannibal’s.
“There’s 32 different specials listed on the menu this week,” George says. “In addition to getting all around.”
