FUCK anybody who jumps on to the field of play- nobody knows their intentions and if Tazering them is the easiest way to immobilizing them then more power to the stadium security and/or police personnel for doing it.

I’m OK with the tasing. You REALLY don’t know a person’s intent.
Saying that, if it were a drunken, outta shape, over-weight guy and he died or went into a coma, I imagine there might be a problem.
I think it should be written in small-print on your ticket, announced on the jumbtron, or put on signs in the ballpark that running on the field could lead to serious retaliation from police, including tasing.
And I’m thankful it was a white guy that got a first-time tasing from a white cop. I GUARANTEE if the kid was African-American, this story would be needlessly blown WAY out of proportion. The kid was stupid for going on the field and deserved a tasing.

These stun devices kill people. THEY KILL PEOPLE. Young people, old people, healthy people — it doesn’t matter as you can fucking die from being tazed.
Idiots running around on fields in the middle of games has been going on since the invention of said fields/games — let’s stick to the tried-and-true method of form-tackling.

Paul…. if we are going to taze ALL people who run onto the field, because we don’t know their intentions, what would happen if Morganda(sp) or a newer version of the “kissing bandit” were to take the field? I think the tazer on some kid is a little overboard.

How stupid are you if you can’t tell after the fourth zig zag pirouette how harmless this kid was? Cops and security guards have itchy trigger fingers on the tazer guns now. It’s taze first, use common sense later. Fat cops who are never required to stay in shape are whipping out their tazers, security guards who aren’t skilled enough to handle a drunken fan are whipping out their tazers, kids on campus are getting tazed for smarting off to campus security…this whole tazer movement is f’n ridiculous. People haven’t changed. Everyone is just as crazy and stupid and foolish as they always have been. It’s the cops who have gotten lazier and more pigheaded, and small time security guards who have been unwisely armed with tazer guns they think they have to use 9 times out of ten to settle a dispute.
Some stupid kid ran on the field during a boring baseball game? Well boo hoo. Why don’t you cry about it. That was probably the most exciting thing that happened all night. What would happen to Morganna if she was still in action these days? Would some dumb meathead taze those ta tas?
It’s absolutely amazing how cops ever survived and handled minor disturbances in the past without these magical tazer guns that they’re so quick to fall back on now. You lazy meatheaded doughboy, learn how to take a guy down you worthless turd.

If my son was tazed for running on a baseball field I would sue them. You never know if someone has a heart condition or some health problem that might make tazing become deadly. It just isn’t right. It was a bad call. Obviously the guy was a young kid and obviously there was no intent to harm anyone so the fatso should have just taken him down. Tazing is something that should be taken more seriously. I do not agree with this at all.
