Chances are—YES!

According to the Industry’s ONLINE TESTING EXCHANGE (OTX), parents are the primary group to most likely purchase concessions or spend more money at the movies (purchasing for several people instead of just one or two).

They are also much more likely to consistently smuggle in food from the outside for their children.

In surveys conducted by OTX during the 4th quarter of 2009,

The answer is simple. Double the damn ticket prices and drop the concession prices to Quik Trip levels. This pricing model has been tested in some markets and has yielded positive results on both the revenue side and keeping out the riff-raff. The only issue is with the studios getting greedy and wanting more of the box office take.

Trouble is you can’t beat the taste of movie popcorn so all good intentions are out the window.

Gimme a .99 44oz drink and a bucket of popcorn or a hot dog for a buck and I’m down with paying $15.00 to $20.00 for the movie.

would they rather families with kids stay away? look the other way at us bringing in food for the kiddies.

you can deal with love or hate. you can’t deal with people ignoring you.
