I’ll do some math:
18,555 X 6 = 111,330
2,500 X 6 = 15,000
Total = 126,330
That’s Sprint Center’s capacity times the number of sessions for the Big 12 tournament, along with a very optimistic number for the women’s tournament per session.
That’s with no one going to multiple sessions, and assumes no one from Kansas City attending the tournament.
In other words, bullshit.

I for one love Jasper’s. I believe it is a great family owned establishment. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcomed. I think the people that wrote in about mob affiliation should do some checking before throwing that around. It’s quite a stereotypical to say someone is involved in the mob because they are big and Italian. Not a single Mirabile brother that I know of has ever been in trouble with the law for mob related activity. Additionally, Jasper spends so much of his time helping and donating to many charitable organizations throughout the city. I recently had a horrible experience at one of my favorite restaurants, The Capital Grille. The service was less than stellar, food was subpar and because of my husband and i’s young age we weren’t treated like we could really afford our meal. Will I never go back and will I slander this restaurants name all over town, no! Everyone and everyplace has bad days, of course I will go back! It’s truly sad that the above bad commentors feel it necessary to bad mouth a local family owned establishment. Pretty soon we can all eat at Chili’s on special occasions because these family owned restaurants won’t be here because people like you!

This is HUGE for Kansas City. EVERYONE in Kansas City has their eye on this tournament and many locals attend, if not a great percentage.

The Jasper family is a wonderful lively funny and talented family. I have had the good fortune to have known the mother,father and sons since 1976 . Their knowledge of food, their ambiance makes every visit to eat like going to someones mothers house. Some of the above comments are outright falsehoods and wierd. I had a similar problem with Chunky Jimmy the doctor Mirable. He is a real jerk. Yells at his staff, I saw that, and is just a mean unhappy man, like his brothers at the restaurant. They are all heavy set with homely women as wives. Maybe thats why they are mean?

I have known the Mirabile family for over forty five years. They are the most talented, entertaining and hospitable family in the Kansas City area. They are generous and an asset to our great city. I have known a few people who did not like the Mirabiles but after a little checking find it is always about jealousy and not based in fact.
