Avatar will not win purely based on the fact that it is a cartoon… Highest grossing movie means nothing, Hurt Locker or a slim chance Baterds.

The toughest race to call is best director. Cameron who literally created a brand new world and had ground breaking special effects was the early favorite. Then his ex wife has won recent awards. So its a toss up. He helps her that no woman has won before.
Though its lost steam I don’t think its that close. Avatar best picture.

And gee i’m glad that the Oscars have some young hip hosts that will attract the type of audience that the sponsors love. What Angela Landsbury and Andy Griffith weren’t available. Steve Martin was making me laugh when I was in high school. He still makes me laugh. But am I the target the audience?

thanks…but I actually missed one—namely BEST PICTURE which was am even-odds bet. Frankly I thought that the Academy would’ve been impressed with the huge boxoffice performance of AVATAR and awarded accordingly. But i was wrong…..
As to KU in the big 12?…my money is on ARMY (…Salvation Army that is 🙂
