Trying to play the 3 ball in that arena is insane. Even though they shot a decent 40%…it seemed that the advantage KU was sporting was down under?
X…granted he is a gorgeous athlete and prospect…still doesn’t look like he’s ready for tournament action.
Kentucky looks like “The” #1 seed to me….John Wall is best I’ve seen in years….Magic/Bird/Jordan wrapped in one package.

Nick Wright is a tool, a yes-man and anything he evers vommits into his microphone is made up of what real broadcasters have said and he has read elsewhere, sometimes spun 180 degrees, other times not. He makes this comment about Self and COTY because it is the sexy thing to say and it is somewhat obvious.
As a KU alum and fan I would say that if Self does get COTY it would be deserved given the overall toughness of the conference this season and not to mention winning the conference six years in a row – in itself not an easy thing to do in any conference.
HOWEVER, all of that aside, with two games left in conference play I would say that Frank Martin is a valid choice (and deserving) for COTY with one of many reasons being the same as listed above for the Jayhawks – the Big 12 is a pretty damn good conference this year, well unless you are Nebraska…
Hall, I am also very curious about Martin, his pending raise, and the amount of said raise given the financial hammer K State is trying to put down in the shadows of all the shenannigans brought to light in the last year and a half. The administration sure do find themselves in a precarious position given they are trying to save face from recent monetary debacles. Fact remains, if K State won’t pay him, someone else WILL and I imagine that would be quite handsomely at that.

GH: While KU may very well get back on track quickly in Lawrence on Wednesday, the question I was pondering is will the loss in Stillwater help keep them from losing before the Final Four. I don’t think there is any connection but I may be in the minority.

Thank God we here in the Mid West have KU and Bill Self, what a pleasure to talk about losing a game or two on the way to the final four, instead of what can “WE” do to compete in this league like the Chiefs and Royals. Two awful programs for many many years. KU is a team to be proud of, year after year. Glad KSU and MU have also gotten so good, nice to have the best basketball in the land right here in KC area. KU likely will win it all or come close, they have the easiest section to win, the Mid-west only have to get by WestVirginia, they will. I fear Syracuse more than Kentucky. It should be fun.
Proud to have at least one big time winner in KC, The Jayhawks…..and I do think the Chiefs will start to finally improve this season. The Royals stink.

When I was a young man, there were a couple of bars in Lawrence, the Yuk Up and the Yuk Down, one being uptown and the other downtown; “Yuk” stood for the University of Kansas, UK, so were they named for Kentucky, dumbfuck?
