Eddie Delahunt is Kansas City’s favorite Irish dude and he’s been stepping up his game lately when it comes to promoting his music career and newish coffee house Cafe &.
The latest big deal for Delahunt: Oprah’s Dr. Oz is going to broadcast from his place at 45th & Bell Friday (Oct. 23rd) from 1 to 3 pm.
Delahunt is a fixture in Kansas City’s Irish scene and this Dr. Oz visit is a major coup.
There’s a variety of factors contributing to Eddie’s recent Renaissance but none more so than the fact that he’s still kicking after a health scare years ago that Hearne documented in detail for The Star.
Since that time Delahunt has created a flurry of content and increased his name recognition among the Irish folk music set with a steady stream of live gigs from KC to Weston and throughout the Midwest. When I asked him about his productivity, he said, “It’s amazing how many ideas you get when you’re not drinking.”
This year Delahunt celebrates two decades in the U.S. and around Kansas City marking the occasion with a rather kickass CD release of traditional Irish songs entitled ‘Fiche Bliain Ag Fas’, 20 Years A Growin’
