Not many have what it takes to run a successful music venue and tour nationwide with a band. The men of Roman Numerals have figured out how to do it, and do it well.
Two of its founding members, Steve Tulipana and Shawn Sherrill, opened the Record Bar in the summer of 2005, concurrent with recording their self-titled debut album out of state (later released in 2006).

It actually is a very underrated menu. Tough to get in and out of there in a good amount of time over lunch, but worth it if you’re not on a tight schedule.
As a music venue, it can be great. They are a little too aggressive if you happen to be there for an early show – and a late show is scheduled. I’ve been sold a beer there – and then told (not asked) less than two minutes later to finish my beer and get out now. Which is rude, if you ask me.

The Record Bar is a fab places for taking in all sorts of awesome music. I totally agree with the sentiment of this article and look forward to more reviews by Ms. Logan.

As someone who’s been going to the RB since its opening weekend (the much-missed Doris Henson headlined) I’m glad to see the place not only survive but prosper. The only flaws are minor (no beer specials, ever) and major (no 3am license).
