If last nights (actually this morning’s – 12:01 a.m.) Midnight Shows are any indication, then HARRY POTTER 6 is well on its way to becoming the biggest boy wizard—make that TEEN-Wizard–adventure yet!
According to early boxoffice estimates, HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE established a new bewitching hour record with $20 million in ticket sales.
Compare that to last year’s THE DARK KNIGHT midnight kick-off which brought in $18 million—and Harry’s last big-screen outing (ORDER OF THE PHOENIX in 2007) which premiered at midnight with $12 million.
But HOW does Harry compare to this summer’s TRANSFORMERS 2 juggernaut?
Very well! Thanks for asking.
TRANSFORMER 2’s midweek-midnight premiere runs hauled in $16 million.
So Hail Harry as the new Midnight CHOSEN ONE!
