I agree with JT – spelling and basic writing skills are kind of necessary when you are writing copy for others to read – and getting PAID for it.
I think it’s the one reason many people still consider blogs as unserious junk written by people sitting in their pajamas – the appearance that the “publish” button is pushed before anyone ran spell-check or made sure that the stuff they were putting on their site was actually true. A LOT of blogs have this problem.
In my opinion, if bloggers got more serious about cleaning up the small errors, it would make a difference.

If I WAS PAYING for the content, yeah, I would expect more. However, this is a fricking blog, not the NY Times. It comes with the territory. Ligthen up.
And no offense to Greg here, but what do you call the stuff published on here, serious junk? No, it is unserious junk and that is why it is the first thing I read every morning.

I’m not sure I agree with you that respect is an “earned perk,” but even if it is, isn’t it a two-way street? Doesn’t Haley have to do something to earn the respect of his players?
And even if he doesn’t, what does Brian Waters have to do to earn the “perk” of respect? Haley may be right that he could win as many games with 22 guys off the street as the Chiefs have done, but from everything I’ve heard, until this blowup, Waters worked hard, kept his head down, said the right things and has played at a high level. He’s been to the fraking Pro Bowl after all. No one is saying Haley had the responsibility of telling Waters everything he was going to do with the team or even take an hour long meeting with Waters to listen to all of Waters’ suggestions for rebuilding, but, if the reports are accurate and Haley DID treat Waters as shabbily has been reported, well, that wasn’t really necessary either, was it?
If it was some motovational ploy, it certainly appears to have backfired and if it was a means of expressing his authority, well, it seems he has a few things to learn. You want toc all out a player like that, amke it someone like Larry Johnson who at least arguably deserves some verbal abuse.
