This reads like a eulogy.
John Mark Eberhart
Eulogy? Oh, come on. Think “Phoenix.” Not as in the American city, or the Old English poem, or even the tutor of Achilles, but rather as the firebird, reborn from ashes!

What form of kayaking? Whitewater, flatwater?? Details man, details.
John Mark Eberhart
Whitewater when I can get it, flatwater when I can’t. Which means I spend a lot of time on area lakes, but get out of town every chance I get to get into a river. So far I’m not very experienced — Class II — but I’m heading into Class III territory this summer if I can find time. Class IV may be as gnarly as I ever get. V and VI? Not interested. I’m attached to my arms and legs and want to keep it that way.

But did you ever interview Craig Glazer or read his book? Bet u have lots of interesting stories to tell. Look forward to hearing them. Welcome Phoenix.

John:
There is a pretty regular group that meets at JACOMO every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and a couple of my friends train at Lake Olathe every Saturday morning. Many are preparing for the Missouri River 340 race Aug. 4-7. Check out http://www.rivermiles.com if you want to learn more.
