Dae-bok!
It’s really nice to feel, see and taste good food made by people who care about what’s coming out of their kitchen!
I was referred to O Cafe in Lawrence by a good friend who told me it’s one of his current faves and I couldn’t agree more. The atmosphere’s – you know – OK and all, but I’m not one to put too much weight in an owner’s taste in decorating. Hey, if it’s clean and tidy and the food’s top notch, you can pin posters of Farrah Fawcett on the wall for all I care and I’m good. And O Cafe most certainly is clean and tidy with great food.
On top of which, the table service is quiet, efficient and very nice, and the owner visited us twice, was very pleasant and invited us back.
We started with the Mandoo (steamed dumplings) and they were tender, well-seasoned and not overdressed with sauce.
For lunch I ordered the Jjam Bbong– a spicy noodle soup w/ shrimp, calamari, clam and mussels. People! This will set you free! It was delicious however it may be awhile before I get back to it, because there is so much more to try here. This is not inaccessible food. It is fresh and comes to you with care and a smile!
Hey Kelly, nice piece and welcome. Guessing by the picture that you work with HC now. My advice would be to fasten your seat belt. 🙂
Welcome!
The place sounds great!
I got to get to your spot. Sounds fantastic. Hearne knows great food.
>he has enough literal guts to eat at a Restaurant in Lawrence located in the 6th street corridor
This guy should get a medal for bravery.
Oh and if you like terrifying restaurants that serve fire food check out Little Saigon Cafe on 23rd street if you want to eat Pho like all the coool cats.
